The hero of Gallowmere rises! Watch the first MediEvil PS4 trailer now

Celebrate Halloween with the resurrection of a PS1 classic

Sir Daniel Fortesque first shook off his premature burial 20 years ago and has had a dedicated fan base ever since. We believe those of you who come to this title anew will find the bones of the story remain strong.

MediEvil follows the story of Sir Dan, an unlikely champion who met an unfortunate end on the field of battle. He receives a chance at redemption when his nemesis, the evil sorcerer Lord Zarok, accidentally resurrects him 100 years after that fateful day. Lord Zarok seeks to conquer the Kingdom of Gallowmere, and only the skeletal Sir Dan stands between Zarok’s army of the undead and the kingdom he swore to protect.

Whether you picked up the original or never heard of the original, we know you’ll love the sword swinging, perilous puzzles and enchanting environments.

Brought back to life by our International Software Development team in partnership with Other Ocean Interactive, this a full remake of the original PS1 classic – with all of the scarecrows, zombies, werewolves, and mace-wielding knights lurking in the kingdom with more detail and personality than ever before.

My childhood hero is back and I want it now! Gameplay looks amazing. Great time to be alive indeed. Crash, Spyro and now Medievil. Just perfect

Looks great, shame the second wasn’t remade too but oh well, definitely on board for this.

Now do something with the other beloved franchises you own Sony, like Legend of Dragoon, Wild Arms and Dark Chronicle/Rogue Galaxy :)

One question I just have to ask: what’s up with the camera? It’s so much closer and it constantly swings right and left during battle. Not a comfortable new feature, almost makes me wonder if it will make me sea-sick more than VR games do.

Absolutely awesome. Thank you playstation for remaking Medievil!

They really captured the spirit and gameplay of the original and i was expecting to get kind of teaser trailer with few to none gameplay but this trailer was awesome! Day one purchase for sure! Now i’m not so sad anymore that we didn’t get the original on Playstation classic :)

Ehh, it looks great, but the camera feels a tad to close, it looks more like Dark Souls with that camera.

I wished they would remake Medievil 2, 1 was already remade once on the PSP.

I will buy this as soon as the pre order will be out, but still please remake the second game.

Actually Resurrection was a re-imagined version of the original 1998 MediEvil.

This made me want a remaster of the maximo games. Loved them.

Wonderful!! Can’t wait <3

Guys, that looks *awesome*. I snuck some gameplay of the original on a friends’ PS1 (we were poor as dirty and barely had a TV!) and loved it. Getting the chance to play it on my PS4? Truly excellent. Love what you’ve done with the art style too, it looks “fresh yet authentic.”

Sony Interactive Entertainment I cannot thank you enough for reviving an extremely fond childhood video game I adore words cannot describe how I feel, but I will try with a very sincere heartfelt thank you.

That being said you have been & always will be my favorite video game company that one day I inspire to work with. Now that you are reviving old video games would it be possible to wonder if Rule Of Rose will ever receive a proper built from the ground up remake Bluepoint Games style? Will Siren & Twisted Metal ever make a comeback as future titles for the PlayStation 5 since they have been dormant for a long time.

This generation it seems remaking classic titles is getting more, and more popular for both publishers, and fans alike. Would it be possible for you Sony Interactive Entertainment to buy beloved IP’s that have been in slumber for a long time, and need to be brought to life remaking them exclusively for the PlayStation 5 such as Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, Parasite Ev...

Thank you for giving me my most cherished childhood gaming memories.

I’d like another Fatal Frame. Though, it hasn’t really been in slumber, just been suffering from a bad string of releases on bad consoles.

Many of these probably wouldn’t be popular enough to afford a full remake, but might work on the PS2 on PS4 thing. Something I reeeally wish they’d release more titles on. Especially Tenchu 3 (because it doesn’t really work so well on emulators).
