Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 were the best-selling games on PlayStation Store in October

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Astro Bot Rescue Mission also enter the charts

October was the month for returning franchise heavyweights on PS4, as Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed and Red Dead Redemption all launched sequels on PS4.

Black Ops 4 claimed the top spot ahead of Rockstar’s western epic Red Dead Redemption 2 and Ubisoft’s open-world adventure Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

It’s worth noting that this is the first year since the original Call of Duty in 2003 that a main game in the franchise hasn’t released in November on PlayStation. For comparison, the Assassin’s Creed series has jumped between October and November slots across the 11 entries in the mainline series since it debuted in 2007.

On PS VR, platformer Astro Bot Rescue Mission secured the number one position, while Fortnite continues its grip on the DLC charts. See the full list below!

Yeah, October wasn’t particularly interesting for me. Saved me some monies though. :D

People bought black ops instead of red dead? People are crazy. Call of duty is terrible. It’s like the daniel O’Donnell of games. Every Christmas it pops up with another best seller…somehow.

2.1

No, Black Ops just came out earlier so had more time to sell more copies.

Blops4 12th Oct

RDR2 29th Oct

Why do you think that people did that? Many probably bought both. And some people want shooters and got no interest in western games. Personally I have not bought any of them yet but will get RDR2 eventually. Stop hating on which games people choose to play.

The store mustn’t be selling that many games for certain titles to constantly be in the top 20, yet their total sales not exactly being significant… (unless it’s just a tool to promote exclusives as being way more popular than they are, which is pretty likely)

The usual suspects i bet next month Red Dead Redemption 2 will be on top because everyone is talking about it and playing it..
