For Honor and Hitman are your PlayStation Plus games in February

Plus, members now have 100GB of cloud storage space for game saves

Before we get to this month’s line up, we have news to share about cloud storage for PS Plus members. In early February, we will be expanding our cloud storage space from 10GB to 100GB for PS Plus members playing on PS4 – giving you even more space to keep all those game saves.

With cloud storage, you can save your game progress and character profiles on one system, and then continue the game on another system later without losing progress. Be sure to check it out next month!

Now, let’s take a look at the monthly games next month, which will be available on 5th February.

For Honor

First up, we have For Honor, the melee action game from Ubisoft. Experience the chaos of war and choose between Viking, Knight, and Samurai factions to find your perfect fighting style. Featuring 20 different PvP maps, this game will be sure to entertain you.

Hitman: The Complete First Season

Next up, we have Hitman: The Complete First Season. Take on the role of Agent 47, the world’s ultimate assassin. Travel the globe to eliminate your targets in traditional and less traditional ways. From sniper rifles to expired spaghetti sauce, use the weapons at your disposal to become the master assassin.

This month’s PlayStation Plus line up also includes:

This month’s PS3 and PS Vita games will be available for a few extra days, until 8th March, 2019. PS4 games will be available until 5th March, 2019, when the next monthly games line up hits.

As a reminder, after 8th March 2019, PS3 and PS Vita games will no longer be offered as part of the PS Plus monthly games line up – so be sure to download them while they’re available.

NOTE: The original version of this post stated that Gunhouse is available on both PS Vita and PS4, rather than just PS Vita. We updated the post on 1st February 2019 to correct this error.

Will redeeming Hitman here on Plus give you access to the Hitman levels in Hitman 2? Owning the game is supposed to do that.

That would mean Hitman here is not worth playing, but you should definitely redeem it so you’ll get its levels in the much improved Hitman 2.

edit:

I realized that Hitman 2 Prologue is free, and gives you access to the legacy pack which are the upgraded levels! So what you should try to do is the following:

– Download Hitman (from PS+) and Hitman 2 Prologue (free demo).

– Launch the PS+ Hitman. When you get in the menus, redeem the “Legacy Pack”. IO Interactive has instructions for this on their website.

– Launch Hitman 2 Prologue and the upgraded Hitman levels in Hitman 2 should be available for you to play.

I’ve not played the second one but I can tell people this Hitman is definitely worth playing. The second game may be improved but this game is fantastic and well worth your time. There’s tonnes of content and is an absolute joy to play.

1.2

Not everything transferred over though, some escalations are missing, as is the Sarajevo Six set of missions, which weren’t massive but were fun additions I quite enjoyed as they altered the levels to new states, so I just kept both installed. They might add those later on, but for now I still nip back to Hitman: No Subtitle now and again.

“Will redeeming Hitman here on Plus give you access to the Hitman levels in Hitman 2? Owning the game is supposed to do that.”

That’s a good question. When you load Hitman it registers those levels to your Hitman profile on IO’s servers. When you load Hitman 2, it recognises that and lets you download the Legacy pack (which seems to me to be a totally different licence). So it could be that even if your PS+ sub runs out, you’ll still get access to the Legacy pack inside Hitman 2.

Well this is a turn up for the books, will be playing both when they drop thanks. Wanted to play both but just never got round to it!

The 100gb save space is most welcome. Not loving the IGC for PS4 but every month can’t please.

So from March the line-up of 6 PS4 games will be better or worse than now, i’m pretty curious~

4.1

You’re being a bit ambitious to think you are getting 6 PS4 games!!

They didn’t promise 4 extra PS4 games when they announced end of support for old-gen systems.

It will be worse as four of them wont exist.

Hitman!!!! I am a happy camper.

6

Well I don’t really care for For Honor and Hitman but Rogue Aces has been on my wishlist for a while cos i like those kind of arcadey plane games and it’s PS4 and Vita so that’ll do for me, cheers.

More storage space is always welcome. So thanks for that too. Should be a while before I even come close to filling up 100GB. :P

(my Plus sub is due for renewal soon so a discount on the 12 month in the next week or two would be nice) :D

(your links are to the US store at time of writing this)

“(my Plus sub is due for renewal soon so a discount on the 12 month in the next week or two would be nice) :D”

It was on sale last week, i doubt they’ll put it again so soon.

I didn’t see it? And I’ve been checking every few days. I saw one that was discounted for new subscribers and one that was bundled with PUBG or whatever it’s called. Haven’t seen it discounted by itself for current subscribers for a while.

Then my bad, didn’t know it was for new subscribers. Still, i doubt that they’ll put it up again with a discount so soon. Perhaps bundled with another game…

Aaaaaahhh… maaaaaannn I just bought Hitman in the sale as goty… 🙈

Was so close to buying it the last time it was on sale. Glad I didn’t.

“After 8th March 2019, PS3 and PS Vita games will no longer be offered as part of the PS Plus monthly games line up – so be sure to download them while they’re available.”

Are they going to be removed from my library !?

8.1

No.

8.2

From an interview with Polygon about this…

“Nothing else about PlayStation Plus is changing, according to Sony. The terms of the arrangement — that customers must have an active PlayStation Plus membership to play the “free” games — will remain the same, as will other benefits of the subscription, such as cloud-based storage for save files. And subscribers won’t lose access to PlayStation Plus titles that they’ve already added to their library.”

Dont worry that is not the case. They said so when the change was announced.

Actually happy to see Hitman as PS+. Hopefully more people will give it a shot and realize what a great game it actually is. I know lots of people ignored it due to being episodic.

Carnivius_Prime 30 January, 2019 @ 16:41
9.1

i ignored it cos it’s Hitman and I’ve played those games before and didn’t like them but some folk might so that’s nice for them.

9.2

With you on that, I don’t think there’s a series I’ve put as much time into on the PS4 as Hitman… I twas 400 hours a year or so ago and it’s going to be at least double that now, especially now I’m redoing all the challenges after completing the old series once.

Its nowhere near the level of blood money.

Well, at least they ended the PS3 Plus games with a blast.

10.1

No they didn’t, we got one more month with Ps3 / Vita games…. It ends 8th march NOT before! And we always get new games 1st tuesday in month = 5 march…

Already own Hitman and I have PS Now which has For Honour on there already, so third month in a row with no reason to sign back up to Plus. Maybe next month.

Sign back up would imply that plus isn’t next to your avatar.

Wish you had a better send off for the VITA and PS3 :(

Fantastic news!

14

Goodbye PS3 and Vita games. You were fun while it lasted…

Excellent news on the Cloud storage increase though!

Come february ps4 owners get four games, come march thye get two. So its not just legacy consoles that are missing. That said it is pretty good month. Hitman and rogue aces for me.

nukualofaperson 30 January, 2019 @ 16:43

Gunhouse isn’t available for the PS4 in Norway (and the rest of Europe?)

16.1

Yeah I don’t get this either. It’s available in the UK store (https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP3968-PCSB01288_00-GUNHOUSECOOLTOWN) but that is VITA only. I’ll just try it out on my VITA.

16.2

Same here, only Vita. I hate when they announce games currently unavailable in the Store, i love to wishlist them when they’re announced, as a reminder.

They still haven’t fixed that info, pitiful.

“As a reminder, after 8th March 2019, PS3 and PS Vita games will no longer be offered as part of the PS Plus monthly games line up – so be sure to download them while they’re available.”

This sentence is needlessly confusing, even under normal circumstances we wouldn’t have been able to “buy” February’s games in March, so the “so be sure to download them while they’re available” is redundant.

Or will we become unable to download PS3 and PSVita games from our PS+ library after 8th March 2019 altogether?

17.1

It is badly worded. Your old games are safe as long as you keep subscribing to Plus.

Will PS3 and Vita games we have already ‘purchased’ via PS+ still be available to download or are they being removed from the store? The post is not clear.

18.1

Nothing is getting removed… otherwise it would be a mass-delisting of a whole generation of games lol.

18.2

They will. The post seems clear “As a reminder, after 8th March 2019, PS3 and PS Vita games will no longer be offered as part of the PS Plus monthly games line up”

18.3

@JavaDuke Which is exactly that. No more PS3 or Vita games in the monthly line up from march going forward. What’s yours is yours, as long as you subscribe. Just no new ones.

Not bad for PS4 but yet again PS3 games are absolutely pathetic! MGS4 yea its good but its an old game worth 50p!! Disgraceful imo.

19.1

It’s PS3, surely ALL the games at this point are worth about 50p? What were you hoping for at this stage?!

JediKnight246 31 January, 2019 @ 15:22
19.2

Every PS3 game is an “old game” in 2019 if you want to look at it that way. It’s not like there are any new release PS3 games that are worth anywhere near £40 still apart from FIFA 19 Legacy Edition. The PS3 userbase was pretty low back in 2008 so although MGS4 sold well for the time, there will still be PS3 users who would like it but haven’t played it yet.

Pretty solid line up, for honour is okay, hit an is awesome. Ps3 has probably the best game with MGS4. PS Vita games are sad.

100gb is nice, but don’t compensate the increased price of Playstation plus. Hopefully we get two Triple A and two indies every month, that would be awesome.

Carnivius_Prime 30 January, 2019 @ 17:09
20.1

eh for me the Vita games are much more appealing than the PS4 and PS3 games this month. I’m in the mood for upbeat arcade games rather than gloomy story stuff.

Hitman!… and not much else for me, wonder what will replace the 4 games we lose.

21.1

You’re breathing it

RIP Vita. 💐

23

Always quite fancied playing Hitman since hearing so much about it, there’s a fantastic film called Interview with a Hitman which stars Luke Goss by director Perry Bhandal and so many people on the comments automatically assumed it was an adaptation of the game (it wasn’t but it’s a fantastic film if you like this genre check it out!) however I’ve heard so much about this game and seen so many good reviews in YouTube so look forward to checking this out. Thank you Playstation!! ❤️🙏🏼

…Meanwhile I am still waiting for a multiplayer access only PS+… 😐

I already own the intro pack and Sapienza level for Hitman. Will PS+ actually let me download the full game or will it funk up and claim I already own the game like it does when I tried to purchase the full game a few months back?

25.1

I went to the GOTY page and it is “buyable”, so we’re safe.

THE-PLASTICA-MAN 30 January, 2019 @ 16:59
26

Great news about the Cloud Storage. I really wanted that especially with the extra PS Plus prices we are paying. there are many games that exceed 1GB of storage and saves and with a handful of those we will run out of cloud storage so quickly.

27

Great month i already have Hitman but i don’t have For Honor and i will definetly pick up Metal Gear Solid 4..

Both ps4 games are worthy of my attention. Rogues aces has been on my radar so that’s great too. The rest of the ‘fantastic offering’ can do 1.

feel-my-wraith1 30 January, 2019 @ 17:25
29

The repetition between ps plus and psnow is getting ridiculous. Steep, for honour, mafia 3 and xcom all duplicated within approx 2 months. Let me guess prey will come to ps plus next month. I love psnow, but you are basically charging me twice for the same games. Please make the headline games for psnow separate.

THE-PLASTICA-MAN 30 January, 2019 @ 17:33
30

Oh no Divekick is available on PS4 too. Why not offer the cross-buy version or offer the PS4 version instead? This happened many times for other games. Luckily there will be support only for PS4 in few months.

Carnivius_Prime 30 January, 2019 @ 22:38
30.1

I bought Divekick last year in one of the sales when it was only 89 pence. :P

Well i can sell my both disc versions at least. Not bad lineup. Hitman is defintely worth it. And that 10 to 100GB storage leap is quite nice gesture from sony but im expecting another price hike in the upcoming months…

31.1

Another price hike, you reckon?! Surely not after they’ve probably just cut down their free games from 6 to 2 games. Not sure many people would then pay MORE per month for the service?!

I would like to be wrong but i have that strange feeling.

supersmith2500 30 January, 2019 @ 17:42
32

Another online only Ubisoft game, why I am not surprised.

32.1

Which one online only? :O

C’mon, it’s easy to guess.

The extra 90GB is nice, but would be even better if it was usuable by other accounts on the same PS4.

34

Those links in the article are for US store. Wow. What a lazy bunch of writers on this site… When I click to redirect me to UK store it says the site doesn’t exist. I wouldn’t be so critical if at least the sale lists were up to date when they are released. Why even bother linking the text.

UltraSilver64 30 January, 2019 @ 19:06
34.1

I agree. The links do go to the US store. Why bother putting up links if you’re not going to bother to make sure they are right and working?!

34.2

Not surprised. Remember when a couple of months ago they posted that entry about a free LBP3 theme? It was for the US only. They didn’t even apologize. Search for “littlebigplanet” here, the 2nd November post, if you don’t believe me.

Damn, I just bought Hitman GOtYE very recently, and I’ve been having For Honor for a few months now, and all you guys are so lucky what most awesome games you got. For Honor is absolutely one of the best multiplayers out there, a must for any Bloodborne and Dark Souls fan, while Hitman is just so damn cinematic and immersive, it’s simply ridiculous the freedom you have. Don’t even feel sorry that this month will not really get anything new. Enjoy February guys!

100GB? Who’s going to need that? Unless PS5 saves are 500mb.

Carnivius_Prime 30 January, 2019 @ 22:40
36.1

Hey don’t complain. ‘too much’ storage is better than not enough. I think my saves are about 4GB or so at present and I’m not even someone who plays all the latest AAA games and such so other folk must have loads more by now and 10GB probably isn’t enough for them so 100GB is nice and ‘futureproof’ for the time being. :D

I wouldn’t play Hitman: The First Entire Complete 6 levels for free. And wow, I just joked about Steep a month or two ago saying “it could be worse, it could have been utter garbage like For Honor”. Seriously though, thanks for that one lol.

Vita is dead. Long live Vita! 👑

It would be nice now that only PS4 is catered for if they could throw in a few more PSVR games as some form of compensation or added PS Now as a part of the service.

Carnivius_Prime 30 January, 2019 @ 22:40
38.1

hm ps now might be interesting. psvr not my thing.

I’ll take the 100Gb already used about 9.5

40

Yeah, we remember there won’t be any more PS Plus for Vita and PS3 after March, so maybe… MAKE A ONE FANTASTIC SALE ON MOST OF PS3/VITA games and dlc’s? However this is Sony, so I believe there will be nothing as such and that is sad.

40.1

There was a sale in january which was actually pretty good for the PS Vita (can’s speak anymore for the PS3). I assume they’ll do another one in time, it does give Sony revenue ;)

No PSVR sale as on USA store. Sad day for the PS3, great times were had. Regards from the Carromkid.

42

I dont seem to be able to buy Hitman GOTY. As I already own HITMAN ™ Season Pass.

So the rest of users get for free HITMAN GOTY and my only option to get HITMAN GOTY is to upgrade what I already have for 20 euros? While I have already paid for the HITMAN ™ Season Pass already and others havent paid anything…

Hope SONY fixes it and allows the free upgrade to GOTY for any HITMAN 1 owners.

Then I will be perfectly fine :)

A shame Sony couldn’t have dug into its archive of abandoned or unpublished titles and come up with something impressive to say goodbye to the Vita with – at least some effort would have been welcome – but its been a good five years, overall.

So from next month on… PS4 and PSVR, right?

FIght_Club_13 31 January, 2019 @ 07:41
45

100 GB will be great ONLY if it will be available for ALL accounts in the same console with an active PSPlus primary account. It is inconsistent that PSPlus games are shared and the save storage is only used by one account…

P.S. Glad to see more Agents will join the world of assassination!!!Hope you will eventually get Hitman2 to enjoy the full experience along with the Legacy pack!!!

I’ve played betas/demos of For Honor and Hitman back when, and found neither of them to be engaging. Maybe Rogue Aces might be good. But it’s pretty much another month of games I don’t care about that are being hailed as free games, when really I was forced to blindly buy them so I could use my internet connection to play online.

Going to give hitman a try. Not interested in for honor. Hopefully it doesn’t become a trend to give away multi-player only titles on ps plus…

47.1

Whilst For Honorary is a perpetually online game it does have a solo campaign and, let’s face it, if you have a PS Plus subscription you have the internet connection already so it isn’t just for online multiplayer.

badgerboy1977 31 January, 2019 @ 13:24
48

Great news about the online storage I’m always running out of that.

I’ve not played any of those games either so look forward to trying them out, so many games so little time that’s my problem.

Does this also mean we will be able to upload saves without overwriting them?

That would be really useful if a game only allows one slot and you upload a damaged savegame.

50

A very nice month. A great sendoff too for the PS3 and Vita.

I’d just like to thank the PS+ team who selects/selected the many great (and sometimes unexpected) titles I enjoyed on both systems. Binding of Isaac, Spelunky, Xcom EU, The Swindle etc all gave me great joy! :)
