These are your new PlayStation Store releases this week

New games include Sea of Solitude, Stranger Things 3: The Game, OVIVO and more

This week’s PlayStation Store releases include a double-bill of sci-fi action for PS VR owners, a platformer that doubles as a work of art and a haunting journey through a semi-submerged city. Below are our picks of the week, as well as the rest of this week’s full releases.

Scraper: First Strike* | Out: Tuesday 2nd July

Why it should be on your radar:

It’s a double-bill of sci-fi-orientated action for PS VR players this week. Pilot a heavily-armed Hover Pod, using its arsenal to tackle a robotic army in Labrodex Inc’s debut. You’ll need to scavenge for supplies between shootouts, but can use your collectables to upgrade your tank-like ride.

*Not in Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine

Ovivo | Out: Wednesday 3rd July

Ovivo on PS4

Why it should be on your radar:

We’re mesmerised by this debut from Russian developer Izhard, where incredible pieces of black and white art double as platforming levels. You’ll need to use in-built gravity wells along each stage to bob, weave and flow your way to the finish line. Imagine if the genre was reinterpreted through the mind-swirl of an artist who specialises in vector and psychedelic art…while they were playing the board game Operation. Clearer? No? Us neither. But join us in uncovering its secrets from Wednesday.

Stranger Things 3: The Game | Out: Thursday 4th July

Stranger Things 3: The Game - Mirjam on PS4

Why it should be on your radar:

If you’re looking forward to watching the next season of Netflix’s ’80s-themed horror series, you should also pick up Stranger Things 3: The Game. Play through the events of Season 3 with a roster of 12 unlockable characters, each with their own abilities and combat styles. You can play solo or invite a friend over for some spooky couch co-op as you explore Hawkins, solve tricky puzzles and battle monstrosities from the Upside Down.

Sea of Solitude | Out: Friday 5th July

Why it should be on your radar:

We’ve been keeping an eye on Sea of Solitude ever since that visually stunning E3 trailer at last year’s EA’s conference. Similar to Ninja Theory’s critically-acclaimed Hellblade, this third-person adventure aims to tackle mental health issues, as art director Cornelia Geppert sought to share her personal struggles with loneliness.

Sairento VR | Out: Friday 5th July

Sairento VR on PS4

Why it should be on your radar:

If Blood & Truth has you jonesing for more all-out action on PS VR then you shouldn’t miss this debut from developer Mixed Realms. Expect the thrill and ferocity of Doom’s combat combined with a glorious cyberpunk look as you play a super-fast, wall-running cyber ninja using katana blades and a growing arsenal of guns to despatch foes.

Rocksmith DLC for this week is “Rocksmith Intermediate Exercises, Vol 1”

Why can’t we have a full release list anymore?

If it’s too much to ask then stop it altogether, nobody needs half-baked incomplete posts. What’s the point in this, if I have to look elsewhere to get all the info? But why am I actually asking?

Though it doesn’t matter, for the last few months the “post of the week” hasn’t been changed for 3 weeks at a time (the current one is from the 11th of June). There’s also a noticeable reduction in the number of posts and content (I mean no one has replied to a comment since the random reply at the start of June, but that’s not unusual). Something is definitely going on here.

I thought They Are Billions was supposed to release today? Anyone know when and if it contains the campaign update?

i thought it was delayed until the 9th, ported by BlitWorks rather than the makers of the game. We all know about weird no news delays – look at trails of cold steel

Cheers for the reply. I know BlitWorks were handling the port but I read a few places it was coming the 1st, the 9th is fine but a bit of communication goes a long way. Still curious if it’s coming with the campaign and if not whether we’ll be getting the campaign for free at a later date?

So, are these all the new releases for the week,I wonder? Or are these just the ones they cut & pasted from the US one during the lunch hour they knew of the next couple of days?! Another week, still no approval on Battle Princess Madelyn, either…Six & a half months now since the rest of the world got it! What would be nice is the indie content manager(s),responsible for managing the EU store interacted on the blog & or twitter etc., instead of nameless social media people who fail to interact with their customer community, hence fiascos like the ps plus/weekly blog update last week.

A PS+ candidate title, an outstayed it’s welcome show tie in, some thing about being lonely and 2 VR whatevers. This isn’t a great week, there’s basically no games out.

I guess at least the listings are 50% back.

Mate, what are you expecting? Summer is always a barren zone. Wait till autumn and you will get all the games at once. Or better yet, wait for March 2019 :)

11

PS Plus may not be what we expected – the PS Plus page on the store is showing Detroit instead of PES 2019, and the PS Plus blog post has been pulled….

Yes a last minute change

Just tried the link from the home page & noticed the same, nice one @mugglewump! It speaks volumes for the nameless social (but not socially interactive),media team here-quietly delete the page & all the negative feedback, instead of having a senior playstation manager make a post here instead. Own the mistakes, acknowledge the feedback & make a commitment to the feedback made about your plan to rectify the situation & try ensure you don’t make the same mistakes going forward & take your audience with you!

Sea of Solitude works for me on every level hope the game delivers because it looks beautiful and in artistic way deals with some things that everyone can relate to,definetly buying it..

Where is the Judgment DLC? Already out since Tuesday in other regions but still nothing in Europe.

We close the comments for posts after 30 days.
