These are your new PlayStation Store releases this week

New games include Control, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan and more

We’re back with a diverse mix of titles hitting PlayStation Store this week. Gain supernatural powers in Control, try to survive amidst the creeping terror of being lost at sea in The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan or go on a quirky hand-painted adventure in Knights and Bikes.

Check out the highlights below and head over to PlayStation Store for more information.

Control

Why it should be on your radar:
Remedy Entertainment’s unique third-person action-adventure blends supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments. You play as Jesse Faden, the newly appointed Director of a secretive agency in New York following an otherworldly invasion. By exploring a vast Tardis-like environment with your trusty shape-shifting Service Weapon, you’re tasked with regaining control over your company. This probably wasn’t what you expected when you went for that promotion…

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan

Why it should be on your radar:
If you need a bit of suspense, mystery and good old terror in your life, you should pick up this narrative adventure by the team behind Until Dawn. Your decisions determine the fate of a group of five friends caught up in a storm during a holiday diving trip – which totally doesn’t sound sinister at all. If you get a bit lonely, there will also be multiplayer modes allowing you to share the horror and play through the story from different perspectives.

Knights and Bikes

Why it should be on your radar:
This delightful hand-painted adventure for up to two players is perfect if you’re up for a quirky Goonies- inspired coming-of-age tale. Play as Nessa & Demelza, two imaginative girls exploring Penfurzy on their trusty bikes. Form the Penfurzy Rebel Bicycle Club along with the girls’ pet goose and the pickled-head of an undead knight – and pedal into dangers including water balloons, head-on Frisbees and even video game controllers as they search for a legendary lost treasure.

MXGP 2019

Why it should be on your radar:
Milestone is back with a new entry to its lively motocross sim. You’ll be able to take on the current MXGP World Championship for the first time in the series, along with all the official riders, bikes and teams of MXGP and MX2. There are also new game modes to explore allowing you to build your own tracks and paths to share with the community online.

This week’s new pre-orders

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered on PS4

Why it should be on your radar:
From 3rd September you can dive back into Square Enix’s legendary RPG. Join Squall and other members of the elite mercenary force SeeD as they battle the sorceress Edea. With visual and gameplay improvements, this is the best way to experience the adventure, whether you’re a newcomer or returning fan.

ReadySet Heroes

Why it should be on your radar:
Make sure to keep an eye out for this multiplayer action title from Robot Entertainment releasing 1st October if you love quick high energy gameplay that’s easy to pick up. Hack, slash and spell-cast your way through a frenetic dungeon crawler filled with monsters, traps and incredible loot. There’s only one catch – you’ll have to race another team on the same mission! Only one squad will be left standing.

Journey to the Savage Planet

Why it should be on your radar:
You’ve been left been left on an uncharted planet with minimal equipment in Typhoon Studios’ upbeat co-op adventure, releasing 28th January. Explore a colourful alien world filled with weird and wonderful creatures as you determine if this planet is fit for human habitation.

It’s final fantasy VIII not final fantasy VII 😏

It wasnt yesterday lol

I was gnawing so much at the bit in anticipation for The Bard’s Tale physical edition, that I forgot the digital version is released Tuesday! So to calm my impatient nerves, I purchased Control. Glad I did, now…

Hey Store team, can you please do something about the following links showing only blank pages? This has started happening since last Thursday / Friday. I can’t buy anything if you’re not going to show me what’s new to buy. Please do not tell me to try other links either. The reason these specific pages are important is because they show ALL new content (games, themes, DLC, avatars), rather than just one specific type, which saves a ton of hassle and clicking around.

We’re still waiting for Vasara on Vita too.

Just YT’d some footage as hadn’t heard of this one! But some of the devs previous works had made it through-usually default option these days is potions being deemed drug boosters=naughty, but offhand resembles darkest dungeons,so you got me!! Too scary for us aussie kids,(Given our R18=MA15+),maybe??!

*Edit* Googled Xbone Australia store,Rated M about $37.50….looks like either the devs,or the SIEE store have some explaining to do!

NINJA SAVIORS (US spelling?) for me!

Is Vs Gradius having same issues as Time Pilot?

Guessing the high school intern that the SIEE seem to use to upload small indies has a hard time adding the “purchase” button then?! Meantime, another week of silence regarding Battle Princess Madelyn…between the “its up to Sony/Its up to the devs”,& no word since on if its still in certification (or if some sort of update was needed for resubmission), its hard to know what to think!

Anger Force Reloaded had it’s officall release on the 2nd April, after almost 5 months, it appeared in the austrian store today!! Same store front texts as in the german store, and that version was released on time!!?? So, what takes you so long Sony Europe???

You can keep the answer short, I know you are busy getting next week’s “These are your new PlayStation Store releases this week” blog post ready.

7.3

They will probably release Time Pilot as soon as they have de-bugged it a lot of the latest Arcade Archives releases seem to use the Japanese ROM,S which may causes issues on a European system but in time it will be re-released

I love you guys, but I feel like maybe you’re outsourcing your blog posts on Upwork or something… 😅

Knowing which Final Fantasy is which is pretty elementary stuff. The post is even tagged for FF7 Remake instead of FF8 Remastered…

Hey Store team, can you please do something about the “last 7 days” and “last 30 days” links showing only blank pages? This has started happening since last Thursday / Friday. I can’t buy anything if you’re not going to show me what’s new to buy. Please do not tell me to try other links either. The reason these specific pages are important is because they show ALL new content (games, themes, DLC, avatars), rather than just one specific type, which saves a ton of hassle and clicking around.

Turns out you’re not even allowed to post links to the PlayStation Store in the comments… just wow…

It may be worth mentioning that the TRINE 4 pre-order is now also available on the UK store after the slight balls-up. I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the blog post seeing as it’s one of the best gaming series ever made? 🙄

10.1

Ooooh, thank you, love me some Trine :)

Can we PLEASE please get the old store front back? I just want to see what’s actually new on the store but having to scroll over 3 screens every time is a major annoyance, just take me straight to the section

Also of note: last Tuesday saw the stealth launch – not in this week’s or last week’s announcement, not separately announced around these parts – of the first episode in the Kiryu triple pack (PS4 remasters of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5), which is a bit awkwardly priced (one full-price ticket, download Yakuza 3 now with 4 and 5 coming in the next 6 months), but in 6 months it will be incredible value (buttery smooth 60fps, relatively crisp at 1080P, PS4 versions of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 for €60).

But most importantly, now for the first time in history, a version of Yakuza 3 is available for download from the PS store.

cant see the LOTR adventure card game anymore on the store
