Gran Turismo Sport Spec II roars onto PlayStation Store today

New edition of Polyphony Digital’s racer includes base game plus updates, as well as in-game credits to get new players off the starting grid

Almost 2 years after the launch of GT Sport, an updated “Spec II” version will be available at select retailers and on PlayStation Store from today.

The new version will contain the base game plus all the free content updates up until May conveniently packed onto 2 Blu-Ray discs to lower the size of the download. This means that on the disc itself, you will find over 280 cars included and over 25 tracks!

When you install the game, if you have an online connection, any updates after May will still need to be downloaded separately. This will provide access to even more cars and tracks as we continue to add more free content every month.

SPEC II also comes with some additional bonuses to get new players started including 2.5 million credits and the top ten performing Gr.3 cars from the 2018 FIA Certified Gran Turismo Championships:

  • Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3
  • Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3
  • Lexus RC F GT3 (Emil Frey Racing)
  • Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG GT3 (AMG-Team HTP-Motorsport)
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3
  • Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport
  • Porsche 911 RSR (991)
  • Renault Sport R.S.01 GT3
  • Subaru WRX Gr.3
  • Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3)

Speaking of the FIA GT Championships be sure to tune in to the next World Tour taking place in Tokyo on the 26th and 27th October!

You can find Spec II at select retailers around the world as well as on PlayStation Store.

In addition, the PlayStation Hits version of the game will be available at the same time which you can find at local retailers and here on PlayStation Store.

Whichever version you choose, I hope you enjoy your journey in GT Sport!

Are the cars still indestructible? 😉

This isn’t Destruction Derby….

Real race cars never dent.

It is a shame to see many “gamers” not fully understanding what a video game is all about. Not all games are about everything, to appeal to every whimpy kid. Gran Turismo is not about damage. Not because the horsepower of its platform was low, as seen on CMR 2 or even better on TOCA 2, but because Gran Turismo core enthusiasts are not interested in seeing cars bend, we are interested in cars in pristine condition.

If you want to see damaged cars, you’ll love most GTA games, ie GTA3,4, Vice City, San Andreas, in which the fenders are bent even when the pigeons **** on your car. Run along now.

Can we save offline yet? Is the VR fixed?

Can those of us who have Spec 1 get a free credits code for buying what turns out was only V1?

your question doesn’t really make any sense since spec II is the same content you have. they just put the free updates on a disc

I think he/she means, the additional 2.5 million credits and the already unlocked 10 cars, that previous buyers have not received. I would be a little angry, if I had bought the game last week.

I also wonder where all the free cars is. I never got any of the monthly free cars.

The picture for this game looks like a weird marriage ceremony between two racing obsessed guys. Kind of strange but kind of romantic..

How about those of us that have the original game, will we get the bonus cars and content that’s in Spec II?

Considering we paid a lot more, supported the game from the beginning, and had to download so many GBs of updates, it’s the least the developers could do. They don’t seriously expect us to buy the game again just for some exclusive cars do they?

None of the major Australian game retailers seem to know anything or have a listing for the physical version of GT Sports Spec II.
