Check out the highlights below and head over to PlayStation Store for more information*.

Death Stranding

Why it should be on your radar:

Death Stranding finally arrives after years of fan speculation around what creator Hideo Kojima has been cooking up for his new open-world adventure. Play as Sam Bridges, who is travelling across a devastated North America on a mission to re-connect a world on the brink of collapse.

Need for Speed Heat

Why it should be on your radar:

If you want to dive into something fast-paced, Ghost Games is back with a new installment to the Need for Speed series.

Compete in sanctioned events by day to earn money for car upgrades, then immerse yourself in the world of underground racing at night to increase your Rep and unlock car parts. Go up against the city’s police force who stop playing by the rules after sunset. Your Heat level rises as you earn Reps, making the rogue police even more aggressive. Can you make it back to the safehouse without wrecking your car?

Just Dance 2020

Why it should be on your radar:
Are you looking for something upbeat and family-friendly? Ubisoft’s popular rhythm game returns with 40 new songs including chart-topping hits like God is a Woman by Ariana Grande and kids’ favourites like Baby Shark by Pinkfong.

Practice your best dance moves alone or show off your skills alongside friends in co-op mode. Youngsters can also join the fun in the Kids Mode featuring eight new family-friendly songs.

Valfaris

Why it should be on your radar:
Steel Mantis, the team behind Slain: Back From Hell returns with a new 2D platformer featuring brutal combat, gorgeous pixel art and a savage heavy metal soundtrack.

Travel to Valfaris, a former utopian fortress that vanished and suddenly reappeared in the orbit of a dying sun. Decimate everything in sight and collect an arsenal of devilish weaponry as you venture deep into tainted environments filled with grotesque enemies and bosses.

hm i zoomed into the jumanji art just for karen gillan. i don’t really care what else is on the page, i’m happy enough with that. :)

So they will add The Lord of the Rings – Adventure Card Game again, after deleting it the same day the put it on the store in august. I bought it, works great. Have no idea why they removed it.

Any news on Deep Down?

The last news about Deep Down was that Capcom renewed the rights for the trademark in 2018.

So I guess they haven’t given up entirely, however as the main staff members have gone on to work on other projects after the beta, it seems a bit unsure what Capcom’s plans are.

I wasn’t expecting a serious reply!😂😂

Should have put a afterr!

But still… I’ve been wondering what happened to that game for years…

Please correct the two themes which are permanently at the top of the New Releases (Battalion Commander & Treasures of Montezuma) … they have a release date of 01.04.2020. The same problem exists for an avatar (Modern Frankenstein), supposedly released on 04.01.2021!

Also, what happened to Tamarin??

Tamarin has no release date set yet.

I decided to pre-order Blacksad. I don’t really know anything about the game, but I really enjoy the comics I’ve read, so I hope the game will do the comics any justice.

So on the 8th we can finally find out what kind of game DS actually is…

The usual blah blah sad gritty trailers and cryptic “you’ll be walking around a bunch” made it seem pretty terrible and killed my interest in it entirely. I even like Kojima games.

Hopefully next generation developers remember that the best thing about games is GAME PLAY and FUN. Too many developers have got in this cycle of making players watch/read sad gritty (unskippable) crap, coupled with stale residual game play just so it’s a game..

I like when developers are free to do whatever they want. This is Kojimas vision all the way, no Konami holding him back. There will always be developers making gameplay packed content. There are developers for every type of game, and more waiting in line for their chance to get in the spotlight. We need every type of game there is :)

We do need every type of game there is, and that’s the problem. There’s been an endless stream of these type of titles since the end of the PS3, almost as if the PS4 generation didn’t go anywhere. There’s a massive fear of having anything be fun, or having interesting characters. They all have to be bland bearded unhappy guys with sad stories lest it be seen as “unintelligent”. Insomniac were told in their last game to make it gritty and sad by their publisher, as they thought it being depressing would sell better.

Actual Sony games this generation have been very, very, very formulaic. Sad third person action adventures with optional stealth and basic dated game play. Pretty much anything that isn’t was by a third party. No RPGs, no fighting games, no silly racers, no dragon riding combat games, no silly titles with fun characters.

Oh and, though that tale gets repeated often (and I like the guy and game), Kojima was head of the games department, had 10 years+, a large team and a m...

It is not so easy for me to say, but the whole “you’ll be walking around a bunch” gameplay is basically the core game mechanics in the Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 (most of the time you just travel from cutscene in point A to the cutscene in point B and then back to next cutscene in point A again. With little bit of very repetitive gameplay – W3 = repetitive fights, RDR2 = repetitive shoutouts, DS = stealth passages and fights with BTs). And you know how these games were successfull… so technically the core game loop in the DS sounds same as these games.

Wasn’t Romancing SaGa this week? Jmon those two Saga games and Star Ocean be my most anticipated. Especially Romancing SaGa 3. Those others I’ve played but not SaGa 3.

A quick Google search show me that Romancing SaGa 3 is released next week on November 11th, and SaGa: Scarlet Grace will be released later on December 3rd.

If they really were your most anticipated games, wouldn’t you know that?

No mention of an Arcade Archives this week.

So many dead links again… Or did you guys just ‘forget’ to disclose where some games are not releasing?

HeikeStagBeetle 05 November, 2019 @ 15:18
12.1

The links aren’t dead, they are unborn. They are supposed to activate before their release date ends. At your post’s timestamp, only 4 games in the list (the first 4, releasing on November 4) could be expected to have working links.

If you want to play something while you are waiting, allow me to suggest Yakuza 4 Remastered. It became available for download last week, but since it didn’t go up for sale (it’s part of the Yakuza Remastered bundle which was forgotten about on the blog back in August), it hasn’t been mentioned in these blog posts.

I hope i’m not going to regret Death stranding preorder!

I’m afraid the chance of that is high.

Haven’t been sure what to do about Death Stranding…I like the potential of players assisting each other’s game…but does that mean you’d get an easier game waiting a bit for others to build roads/bridges etc?

Ultracore still MIA-Strictly limited games seem intent on pushing back its release to do limited run megadrive version!

Lastly Battle Princess Madelyn’s dev says despite the EU/AU’s storefront stuff up on its pricing they can’t legally change it ’til mid-November to match its pricing on other formats!

I believe that at first you need to connect the sector to the chiral before online stuff get into your game.

So no matter when you buy it, you will have to travel across empty land without online help at first.

Also it is not MMO with one shared world, but some random stuff will get donwloaded into you world. And I believe there will be limited amount of stuff that is downloaded at once. So more stuff on the servers does not mean more stuff in your game. (as as Dark Souls messages – you also see just few random one in each location)

When will the new list of ps now games be released ( and yes I know no blog staff read the blog but kind of asking for the slim chance someone knows)

15.1

I can see some games I think are new this month. Persona 5, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight. Not sure all of them are new but I think so :)

Yeah just saw that plus they put some that were already there up as new

Hi, are you ever going to fix the non-functional Download Queue with content bundles? It just puts one item instead of all the other ones that are part of the bundle. Ans are the “Last 7/30 days” section ever going to return? They were really useful, there weren’t really “stability issues” caused by them.

No such problem exists, always works for me. The problem is probably you missunderstanding how it works.

Negating issues i’ve been trying to report for months. Typical. Or YOU probably don’t understand what i’m talking about.

Lance I get a 50/50 chance of bundles fully downloading via download list so I understand your problem but to be honest it’s been like that for the last 2 years for me and I reported it on Sony forums and spoke to the help desk and all I was told is it is not a error but they will look into it

There was a new NFS game coming out? I haven’t heard anything about it at all, did they shush it after the microtransactions fiasco from the previous game, or because Heat will have plenty of those?

That’s not the point. He wasn’t aware AT ALL.

And now for a more serious answer to @Viryu: as far as i know, there will be MTXs, but no lootboxes…

17.3

I have played the previous game , not alot but some hours. Have not gotten any reminders of microtransactions. Just stop whining, its getting pathetic.

Human Fall Flat can be purchased for £3.99 as part of the Instant Indie Collection: Vol. 5 (on sale until the 13th) the Ice level is free with this (as are the other additional levels). You also get Manual Samuel and Little Acre as well.

Is Just Cause 4 Complete Edition a truly complete edition with ALL existing DLC?

I’m seeing there was content worth 5€ each released just a couple of days/weeks ago. It’s worth 120+ euros total.

I’m curious because i was planning to get it once it received a complete edition, but after a decent discount.

What happened with “STAY COOL, KOBAYASHI-SAN!: A RIVER CITY RANSOM STORY”? It´s not in the store yet.
