PlatinumGames' flagship titles will feature 4K, 60fps action on PS4 Pro

Ten years after their original debut, Bayonetta and Sam Gideon return once more in the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary bundle on PlayStation 4!

We’re thrilled to finally bring the frantic action and unrelenting style of PlatinumGames’ flagship titles to life in 4K at 60fps on the PlayStation 4 Pro. This hard-hitting combo pack launches on 18th February, 2020.

Have you broken a controller playing through Bayonetta on Non-Stop ∞ Climax? Spent countless hours perfecting every movement in Vanquish’s infamous Challenge 6? Or are you just fascinated by the idea of controlling a gun-wielding witch or a DARPA agent donning a rocket-propelled Augmented Reaction Suit? Then the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle is perfect for you.

We know how special Bayonetta and Vanquish are to fans, and they’re an important part of SEGA’s history as well, so we wanted to go big for their 10th anniversary.

That’s why we’re happy to announce that the physical release of the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle will come in an embossed Steelbook with brand-new cover art for both games produced by Weapons Van, supervised by Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya and Sega.

We’re happy to give PlayStation Blog readers an exclusive first look at the new cover art here:

  • Bayonetta & Vanquish Theme: show some love for the original Bayonetta and Vanquish cover art with this Theme – available for all digital purchases.
  • Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Theme: celebrate the 10th anniversary with a theme featuring the brand new cover art shown above.

If you’re brand-new to either Bayonetta or Vanquish, you’re in for a treat.

Bayonetta takes fast-paced third-person action to the extreme, pitting the unflappable Umbra Witch Bayonetta against hundreds of angelic foes with an arsenal of interchangeable weapons, powerful abilities, and mystical beasts summoned through her incredible hair.

Meanwhile, Vanquish redefines the cover-based third-person shooting genre by introducing elements from action games and beat ’em ups, a wide variety of weapons, and some of the craziest boss fights you’ll ever see, creating an entirely unique experience that shouldn’t be missed.

The Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle comes to PlayStation 4 on 18th February, 2020. We’re so excited to give even more players the opportunity to experience these classic action game gems, and we look forward to the deluge of new playthroughs, combo videos, and speedruns for both games!

I’d rather have some alt costume unlocked to fix Bayonetta’s terrible design over some themes or steelbook. Might just buckle and get it on PC and mod it out instead then.

Just play the game and buy the Super Mirror and Couture Bullets to unlock all the alt costumes.

Which is only available after beating it, which is why I mentioned mods.

Thanks for the reply, though.

To be fair it is a score attack game so multiple playthroughs are likely and the unlocks would come naturally over time. That said I get your point about just having them available for people that don’t want to play it through repeatedly.

ninja gaiden sigma 1+2

Not sure Sega have the power to release Koei Techmo’s games, but they could try.

That’s great news! What are the improvements like on a base PS4 tho?

I’d imagine a locked 60fps at 1080p

Over the PS3 version, probably no long loading screens and loud disk noises (and occasional slowdown).

Wouldn’t Bayonetta 1+2 bundle make more sense? I’d actually buy that one just for the second part, first one was really good.

Bayo 2 remains trapped on Nintendo systems for the foreseeable future. Don’t expect that any time soon

I’d love to see this too, but Nintendo own the publishing rights to Bayonetta 2, so I think it’s very unlikely we’ll see Bayonetta 2 on a non-Nintendo console.

That is great for these 2 games to come out in one set

Great that these 2 games are coming out on ps4

I’m throwing money at the screen and nothing is happening!

I picked up vanquish many moons ago as a bargain bin game…and wow was I surprised.

It felts like an fps version of a bullethell shooter.

It was awesome.

Bayonetta, never clicked with me. I’d been a DMC fan and it just didn’t gel with me.

I’ve played both games on PS3, they’re great games but the graphics and framerate are not as good as the games themselves. Very happy to see them release on PS4 with 4K+60FPS, must buy for me

I never tried Vanquish, so that’s great but I’d really love for Anarchy Reigns to either get a PS4 port or come to PS Now. That’s easily one of my all-time favourite games and so underrated. Please, PlatinumGames!
