The full version of Dreams will launch on PS4 next February

Media Molecule details what players should expect when the game releases on Valentine’s Day

It’s true, we are officially releasing Dreams worldwide on Valentine’s Day, 2020 and the game is available for pre-order from today.

This year has been wild for us, launching Early Access in April, watching the growing Dreams community create amazing things and continuing work on all the exciting additions we have planned. At the top of this post you can watch the brand-new trailer that debuted earlier today on State of Play and features some of our favourite games from the community and a sneak peek of the game we’ve been working on for the launch of Dreams – made entirely with the same tools we give our players.

Since Early Access began, we have seen skilled creators emerge to develop their own original characters and series; build their own fan bases, create viral content, make new genres of games, and collaborate across the world. More importantly, we’ve been updating Dreams based on users’ feedback, improving the experience and making it easier than ever to find and make cool content.

We have also been working on a whole host of new things to inspire players at launch, including a totally new introduction to the game, a new season of tutorials, tool improvements, new game content and a feature-length game, titled Art’s Dream.

Art’s Dream was made by us to show the endless possibilities in Dreams; It crosses genres, features some amazing characters, and shows our love of music in a big way.

We’ve also got some really cool stuff planned for post-launch too, but…let’s save that for the next blog post! If you don’t already have Dreams Early Access, you can pre-order from today on PlayStation Store and you’ll be able to get in and play Dreams on 14th February for £34.99/ €39.99. As a thank you to all of our Early Access players, they will get upgraded to the full version of Dreams via a downloadable update at no additional cost at the same time*.

So, if you’ve ever dreamed of making something, but don’t know where to start, could spend hours getting lost in new worlds and new experiences, or you just want to connect with creative people around the world – we hope we’ll see you in Dreams in February.

If you want to see more of the awesome experiences made in Dreams, please do join us on 26th January for the first annual IMPY Awards where we celebrate the most creative Dreams and Dreamers from our Early Access phase.

And of course, a HUGE thank you from all of us at Media Molecule to our Early Access players. You have shaped this game, you have made this launch possible and the kindness and encouragement you’ve spread throughout our community inspires us every day. You make Dreams a wonderful place to be.

We cannot wait to welcome you all to Dreams in February and we hope you enjoyed the trailer!

*Update requires Internet connection, and account for PlayStation Network.

I’m very happy with what I experienced in the Beta and Early Access, and I know it’s likely been asked a hundred times, but will PSVR access be added upon release too?

“We’ve also got some really cool stuff planned for post-launch too, but…let’s save that for the next blog post! ” Hoping we will get that answer then :)

Ok fine, this is the worldwide release date, but what’s the EU PS Store release date?

Uhh, that’s the meaning of worldwide.

2.2

Oh my God yes!! This game is everything I wanted a game engine to be.

Awesome. Time to sent vacation request….

Is this getting a Physical Release?

Thank you for giving it the attention it deserves during State of Play Sony. I was worried last week that the release date announcement of Dreams would be a whisper when it happened..

Great news guys! Will pick this up for sure! Will there be a physical edition, and if yes any special editions? ^_^

That date can’t come soon enough!

I love LittleBigPlanet and its campaign and customization. The building and creating isn’t for me so that’s a big chunk I’m missing out on, and the community levels didn’t really interest me that much either because most are works in progress. Since this also seems to rely on building and community, I’m a bit on the fence about it. I’ll pick it up on sale just to be safe :)

Well the full version will include the full game too.

Regarding online levels – you are right, most of them are “work in progress”. But there is so many of them, that there are still hours of interesting fun content already in the early access. The only “problem” is that you need to find them somehow in all the mess.

But if you will use some suggestions on the internet or find some interesting collections in the game, you should be able to find them.
