New The Last of Us Part II key art, Ellie statue, PS4 Dynamic Theme and more revealed

Plus first public hands-on of Naughty Dog’s upcoming game at PAX East announced

There are a scant 108 days to go until The Last of Us Part II releases on 29th May! We are thrilled to say that we’ve entered the final stretch of production and are putting the finishing touches on The Last of Us Part II as you read this.

The end of development puts us one very large step closer to launch. We know all of you have been so patient over the last few years, so it’s been thrilling to see our game taking on its final shape and knowing that means it will be in your hands soon. Today, we’re kicking off regular communications about The Last of Us Part II with a few awesome announcements!

The Last of Us Part II hands-on demo at PAX East 2020

Update on PlayStation’s presence at PAX East 2020.

Not only did Ellie and Joel’s journey begin in Boston, but PAX East also has special meaning for us: it was where we gave you the first ever opportunity to go hands-on with The Last of Us back in 2013. We thought it would only be fitting to return to the city that started it all to give fans the first-ever public hands-on with The Last of Us Part II.

From 27th February until 1st March, attendees will have an opportunity to play “Patrol”, featuring an early area of the game where Ellie and Dina must venture out of Jackson into the surrounding areas to clear out infected. The demo will span an hour of gameplay and provide just a small glimpse into what awaits you in the full game.

Attendees can visit the booth to play the demo, but space is limited! We recommend securing your spot via the Experience PlayStation mobile app available on Apple Store* and Google Play**. New appointments will be made available each day of the show. For more information about the demo and to get updates about our presence at PAX East, keep an eye on Naughty Dog’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages.

New collectible Ellie statue and concept art prints

Following up the 12″ limited-edition Ellie statue revealed on Outbreak Day 2019, we’ve teamed up with Dark Horse once again to release a brand new 8″ “Ellie with Machete” polyresin statuette.

Designed and sculpted by our incredibly talented character artists, this new statuette will be a limited production run based on the number of pre-orders received via Dark Horse Direct before 13th March, 2020. After that, it’s gone! You can begin pre-ordering today.

Additionally, Dark Horse will be releasing an 8″ PVC version of the “Ellie with Bow” statue revealed last year, which will be available at participating retailers this summer.

Our friends at Cook and Becker have launched a set of new concept art prints from The Last of Us Part II. These new pieces join the collection of designs released last year and can be purchased as museum-grade-quality giclee art prints, individually numbered and packaged with a certificate of authenticity. You can see them now on CookandBecker.com.

New key art, wallpapers, and free PlayStation 4 Dynamic Theme

Speaking of art, today we’re proud to reveal our two latest pieces of key art for The Last of Us Part II, which explore the two sides of Ellie’s journey: from the relative peace she’s found when the story begins to the relentless pursuit of vengeance that follows.

Will we be getting a re-stock of the collector’s edition, like the US and Canada are too? A lot of people missed out the first time, as it sold out ridiculously quick.

I also hope for a restock for the European edition

We should get one as we are PS biggest market, but then again…

I’m in the Middle East and it says ” The prepaid card is not available in this region.”

Here too, I think the code is for “Europe/AU/NZ/Russia/Middle East/Africa/India” minus Saudi Arabia

9DEK-PKNG-N455 is supposed to work in Europe,Russia,Middle East,Africa and India

Im so excited but I really hope they give the option to up the FPS and lower visuals as I literally cant stand gameplay under 60fps.

Expecting stable 60 fps in AAA game from 2020 with 2013 hardware is quite far- fetched, don’t you think?

3.2

You can’t stand gameplay under 60 fps ? I call BS.

Or else you wouldn’t have that avatar, meaning you wouldn’t have played PS4’s Spider-Man, and you also wouldn’t be interested in The Last Of Us 2, because on PS3 TLOU was a 30fps game.

If they were less concerned about upscaled 4K they could easily hit 60. One of the few advantages the consoles have is squeezing so much out of older hardware.

The Hype is real thank you for all those stuff. Also I hope to see more merchandise in Europe

The wallpaper link redirect to “https://www.playstation.com/hu-hu/wallpapers/” from Hungary but that’s not works. How can I download them in bigger resolution?

Por que tu usas el signo de dolar cuando hablas de pesos?

8.2

el peso mexicano fue el primero en utilizar el signo antes que el dolar

Why cant we have a restock of the Ellie edition?

The people pursuing her in that night scene seem very, very unobservant…

I still wonder if I’ll get my collector’s edition. I managed to order it at the one store in Poland that still had it listed after all the others had it sold out but I’m not actually 100% sure they’ll deliver.

I went to redeem it and I then saw the theme but when I press confirm it tells me that it’s already been used… Please help

I used the code but it is locked. When I click it, it says I need to purchase in the store. Like WTF

I still prefer my Bloodborne platinum theme. Wish more games would reward themes upon getting that shiny platinum.

Since a response from the blog team is unlikely, to all the people who can’t redeem the code: you have to redeem it using the store on your web browser, not the one on PS4.
