£11.99? Wow… thats a little much. Any reason this game is being priced so much higher in UK and Europe than America?

Hi. Concerning the price..
Could you explain why Battlefield 1943 costs $14.99 on the US Store; £9.99 on the UK Store – Where as Fat Princess will cost $14.99 on the US Store; £11.99 on the UK Store?
What’s with the £2 difference we have to pay?
Thanks.

Eh i read this on the US blog yesterday!
Whats the point in posting a day later about something that will be released at the same time worldwide?
So it’s a pointless post now as most people would have already read it on the US Blog.
I think you guy’s need to get with it or this place will fail come on do you not see that by the sheer lack of comments in most post’s?

£11.99 is too high, I’ll have to add £15 too my PSN account then!
$14.99 = £9.00!! STOP making us pay MORE for our games!
Please fix the price I REALLY want this game

I doubt you’ll care or reply to my post..

@9
It’s not pointless because there are alot of people who dosen’t follow the US-blog; myself included. It was pure “luck” that i did it this time. Though i do agree with you that a day later on EU-blog is stupid. It seems second-hand information is the new pink.

@bravo9zero
No you dont buy it direct any amount over £5 will take the exact amount.
£5 being the minimum we are able to add.

Why are the same games more expensive in Europe than America?:/

Posted on 28 July, 2009 at 6:25 pm by bravo9zero
@13
Thanks for clearing that up
Still $14.99 Should be £9.00 in the Uk..
Like post 5 said.

I really enjoyed the beta but 15€ is too high for me, despite its quality it’s a price that freezes me.

Battlefield 1943 $14.99 and is priced £9.99.
Fat Princess $14.99 but we are asked to pay £11.99
No consistency.
You’ll notice how they never answer these complaints, hoping if they ignore us we’ll just buy it anyway.
For a game that costs the same as WipEout and is also published by Sony why the lack of a Platinum trophy?
I’m not happy.

Was going to buy it BUT i’m not now,
As “5 said, BF1943 was $14.99 in the US BUT only £9.99 in the UK, now this is $14.99 in the US BUT £11.99 in the UK.
This crap needs to stop, the tax on £9.00 ($14.99 converted to £) is not £3.00, i will not support being ripped off, i wouldn’t mind if it was £11.99 here (it’s not the price that’s the issue) and maybe $17.99 in the US, but to offer it to the US for £9.00 and then charging us £12 is just not right.
We get less content on out store and also charged more for it, enough is enough.

@20, and they can’t say it’s tax as with tax the US price ($14.99 = £9.09) is only £10.14, that’s still a £2 increase for no apparent reason,
—
I’ll say this again incase people complain about us being cheap, for me it’s not about price (i have £20 on my acocunt ready for this), it’s the fact that the US people are getting it for £3 less.

Why are you guys ripping off everyone in Europe, I was really excited about this game, and determined to buy it the second it come out. But charging us more in the Europe than in the US is wrong. Why are you ripping us off?

I really want this game, But I will NOT pay more than everyone else for It,
EU always gets the short end of the stick from Sony.
Look at #5 Sony, Your ripping us off, Big Surprise there :S

Posted on 28 July, 2009 at 6:59 pm by Ziggy-Moff
@ 23, nice post, looking at it like that really shows how big a rip off this is, especially the 1st 2 @ $21 for the EU and $20 for the UK.
I would bet money this will not get one single official responce (simple because there is no real reason for these prices i would guess).

I would like to hear the developers answer in why we are being charged for a premium PSN title yet only receiving standard small number of Trophies. What makes it even worse is the fact the trophies that are rumored take a considerable amount of effort for the same rewards as Linger in the Shadows, Noby Noby Boy etc. Devaluing the entire trophy system further.

Posted on 28 July, 2009 at 7:09 pm by Pvt_Sharpe
Why exactly do we Europeans have to pay extra than the Americans?
£12 = $19, not $15.
Please do something about the Pricing, or make some universal Sony Currency similar to the other Consoles, it’s getting pretty annoying that we pay nearly twice as much.

Posted on 28 July, 2009 at 7:09 pm by mixindave
even with 15% tax its only about £10.50 so whats the crap price all about?

yes i quite agree 100% £11.99 is steep no justification for it remember ff7 that was $9.99 EU got it price £7.99 wot is wrong with you scee, your price setting is as crap as the content we get or should that be lack of, as for the psn cards infor im now even not sure we get em, eurogamer had a news bit sayin scee says those psn cards on the net with the euro sign is not legit & scee cant confirm if we getting em. ps i got a tenner left on the store i wont put any more coppers to me wallet im saving my pennys for cod5-map pack #3

I don’t usually complain on here, but I have to admit, this is pretty unfair. I don’t think £11.99 is an unfair price for this game, but it is when we’re paying more than everyone else.
I wouldn’t even question us having to pay more, because I know there’s taxes and stuff, but when Battlefield was $15 and £10, it makes no sense for this to be $15 and £12.
To me, it doesn’t even make sense from a money perspective, because I’ve seen a lot of people on the forums who said £10 was their budget, so Sony probably would have made a lot more money pricing this at £10.
33
Posted on 28 July, 2009 at 7:19 pm by Skookie30
pps: you asking us alot scee to pay that much just to grab all bronze trophies does that make sense to you. *waits for commets*.

Thanks for overpricing again, SCEE, I was quite looking forwards to this, but now I won’t be buying it unless it comes down in price. I don’t see why we should have to pay almost £3 more than American players.

I have been wanting this game so bad!!!
BUT…once again Europeans are taken for a ride with the pricing. Just as Battlefield 1943 was $15/£10, I expect the same for this game and every other game on PSN. Yes, I know its only £2 more..but it encourages Sony to charge Europeans more for the same thing.
I wouldn’t mind paying £20 even for this game…IF that was what the US was being charged too…
No sale for me..what a shame

Down vote this Blog entry if you’re fed up with being ripped off and the low number of trophies we’re receiving.
Average right now is 3.75 out of 5.
We have to make our voices heard. Enough is Enough.

Haha “Where the hell’s our Fat Princess”….”It costs too much!!”
And what’s this, “All bronze? [DELETED]”
If you’re gonna moan about the price, don’t buy it
If you’re gonna get it for the Trophies, definitely don’t buy it

Ahh, come on Sony, the Euro hasn’t been equal to the US Dollar in over 5 years and the cost of living and tax don’t make up for the difference.

@44
Few people are disputing that its too much, I think the game will be great but why are we paying more in Europe and the UK than America is? Especially when games like Battlefield 1943 can come out worldwide and have much more similar prices worldwide.
If you’ll buy the game without caring about the price being higher, then you’re the kind of person thats allowing Sony to get away with mistreating the UK and Europe with higher costs, well done.

+1 for not buying it due to the rip off pricing again compared to BF1943.
Pure profiteering at the time of recession, it stinks!

I hate to complain but putting this out at the same price as battlefield in the US, but then adding on £2 in the UK is just asking for a backlash. What did you expect?
I’m sure the game will be fantastic but it should have been £10 and had consistency with Battlefield. That game showed that downloadable games and content don’t have to make you feel like you’re being ripped off.
Then I also agree with the guy who compared it to WipeOut HD which did have a platinum for the same price.
I like supporting my favourite games and developers, but I think DLC needs to represent a fair price. Just think about what percentage of a game a couple of maps or a costume is, and then price it accordingly. Most of the time a £5 content pack isn’t worth £5 of a £40 game or even close.

Definitely not Worth The Weigh in Europe.
I’ll take it from US store.
