Hello everyone it’s Penrose Tackie here with a brand new trailer that offers a glimpse of one of the new features we can expect to see in Gran Turismo 5.
The Stateside NASCAR racing series is world-renowned for high speed, high octane, oval racing and with the launch of Gran Turismo 5, we will see the inclusion of NASCAR for the first time in series history.
Our colleagues in America recently shot a film featuring Kazunori Yamauchi that gives us a real flavour of the NASCAR experience and just what it is that makes NASCAR one of the world’s most popular racing series’ – Enjoy!
Remember to keep checking back on PlayStation.Blog and gran-turismo.com for more news on Gran Turismo.

Graphics look great but the game to me looks very stale, and sterile no fun to much emphasise on the simulater and not enough on the game, sure it will sell bucket loads though just not for me, I play games to have fun not to simulate life.

Nascar? meh.
All we want to know is: Will the Top Gear test track still be included?

Oooooh, that made me feel all warm and tingly inside.
So what do you get when you cross Rednecks and the Japanese?
Apparently you get Nascar on Gran Turismo, a good mix xD
I look forward to driving in circles for hours on end!
No crash damage on this video I see, that could put off a lot of Nascar fans, they are all about the smash ups xD

Posted on 5 March, 2010 at 6:22 pm by Dr-Mog
@niked
Not a chance, It has been confirmed that it won’t be released before fall 2010.
Personally I have serious doubts of whether it will even make a 2010 release.

I don’t want Nascar, I’m more a WRC guy.
But honestly, stop string us in endless hope, just give us the game already.
I’ve been waiting over 10 years for this, enough is enough.
This is the right time to launch the game, how long are you going to wait? This way you’ll lose consumers.
This is the that us consumers want, so just give them to us or we might as well leave.
you guys just never learn do you!?

nice tech demo. but when will we see a GT game?
23
Posted on 5 March, 2010 at 7:45 pm by Alestes
NASCAR is so boring, but I sure hope we will see a similiar video soon about WRC. There has been a depressing lack of rally footage during the development of GT5.
24
Posted on 5 March, 2010 at 7:49 pm by Paulus-NL
@Alestes: luckily there will be a brand new WRC game from developer milestone
25
Posted on 5 March, 2010 at 7:57 pm by Dr-Mog
@Paulus
From developer Black Bean you mean?
The new official WRC game coming out later this year (and a 3 year contract) is developed by Black Bean.

@dr-mog: i thought it was developer milestone and publisher black-bean?

i’m a huge motorsports and gran turismo fan. can’t wait for the game (i am fast losing faith though. honestly, if it gets delayed again i think that will be enough to put me off of gt seires)
got to be honest, nascar does nothing for me. it looks like it has been very well represented in the game, but the sport itself, when compared to other motoring events, is absurd. it lacks technicality and skill (don’t get me wrong, joe average couldn’t do nascar but put a nascar driver in say a wrc event or btc or my favourite f1 and they wouldn’t cross the finish line {again, i’m not saying that the f1 driver is going to go and dominate nascar, they are two different disciplines, sure, but the f1 driver would fare much better than the nascar i would have thought). i would love to see polyphonics obtain f1 license. then i would happily accept a delay.
hurry up and release this already. this game was being buzzed about BEFORE the launch of PS3. we’re four years on. it isn’t funny. sort it out.

This game will be out-dated when it’s _ever_ going to be released.

“This game will be out-dated when it’s _ever_ going to be released.”
Not really, there still working on it.Also the changes in spec for GT5p were quite substantial so any physics updates should be patched in after.

I think it’s so strange that the OFFICIAL PLAYSTATION BLOG still uploads videos to Vimeo in SD? Surely you want us to see these games in their full glory!?
Anyway, the game looks good!

Looking awesome…
So Sony when do WE actually get to play this beauty?

Posted on 6 March, 2010 at 12:10 am by Hentis
Hi Penrose,
Just by reading these comments you must get some sort of feeling that the community is getting fed up with delay upon delay for Sony Games that are apparently ready for release. The big answer to the question we would like to know is when will Gran Turismo 5 be released for SCEE terrortories?
The videos are great little eye candy, and appreciated, perhaps “Tokyo” style demo in the works maybe but the delay is killing us. Are we looking at a 2010 worldwide release or 2011 onwards. Some sort of official announcement is needed. I am a patient person but this is getting silly now.

Just give a release date already! I’m getting a little tired of waiting to play this game for so long.
It’s nice that GT5 is looking to appeal to a very broad audience and all, but personally I couldn’t care less about NASCAR. The only way I can expect to remote enjoy it is if there are epic crashes like the real thing and not just another left turn, then another, then another, and another. No. F that.
That said, I’m more excited for the world rally and hope they do a great job with it.
