‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (25th March 2010)

Another week, another store update, and another chance to spend some quality time with me, you lucky, lucky people :)

This week’s update really is an eclectic mix, and quite heavy on the offers too. Continued from last week we the latest batch of special offers which are here for one more week (look out for the new batch next Thursday). We have permanent price reductions on the first two episodes of Blue Toad Murder Files, as well as the mini title Vempire. Finally, our friends at SEGA have rolled out some reductions across a range of their catalogue, and these will be available until the 29th of April.

Onto the new content, on PSP we see the release of Pinball Heroes, which you can buy as a full collection of four tables (themed as: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Everybody’s Golf, High Velocity Bowling and PAIN), or you can buy the tables individually, so for those of you who have been waiting to test your pinball wizardry here’s your chance.

Manic Monkey Mayhem joins the minis ranks, and is bound to please with it’s unique mix of angry monkeys and banana flinging antics.

For those of you who are looking to tinker with your XMB theme, or PSN ID, then we have new dynamic themes and avatars available also. Heavy Rain and Mega Man 10 bring new themes, and the latest batch of avatars features cast and origami figures from the world of Heavy Rain.

There’s still more to see though, and for the full rundown the complete list is below.

As usual, comments, you, me, etc etc.

Have a good week all!

djax-djax 25 March, 2010 @ 12:04 pm   4

Nothing interesting for PSP, not interesting price reductions…

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:05 pm

I believe you kept asking about Pinball Heroes, and now you don’t want it…

…well, we try and please everyone ;)

Hello store update man, any idea when we will be getting Lead and Gold as I see that it was released on PC this week.

Wooo Heavy Rain avatars albeit a bit late… But still Madison FTW :)

And MAG free DLC for me.

Suzzopher 25 March, 2010 @ 12:05 pm   7

Hey Mike,
But could you please look into getting the following games on PSN from PSone?
WipEout 2097
WipEout 3
G-Police 2 Weapons of Justice
Colony Wars
Alundra
Overboard
Destruction Derby 2
All of these were published by Psygnosis who are now Studio Liverpool so are Sony games to publish right? We already have a few games from Psygnosis on the store so it shouldn’t be a problem right?
Then these too:
Kurushi
Parappa the Rapper
Warhawk(PSone original)
Um Jammer Lammy
Wild Arms
Vib Ribbon
All of these were published by Sony. Seriously these games will sell and surely it would be free money for you guys at this point? Make it so Mike. These are the games we all want to see :)

Will get the Mega Man 10 dynamic theme and free MAG DLC. Poor update this week. My poor PSP Go gets less and less to buy on it :(

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:11 pm

I’m not sure exactly what others titles may be coming, but I know there is work is being done investigating what others titles we can release from our own catalogue. No promises though.

SolidNinjaSnake 25 March, 2010 @ 12:06 pm   8

Need some good PS1 Classics. =(
Such as Spyro!

HiddenAway 25 March, 2010 @ 12:06 pm   9

Hey Mike. Any news on any of these?

DJ Max Fever
Strikers 1945 Plus
Gunbird 2 Remix

Thanks :-)

steven_dutch 25 March, 2010 @ 12:07 pm   10

Awesome, heavy Rain avatars.
Thanks for the update Mike.

xchris2008x 25 March, 2010 @ 12:07 pm   11

Nothing for me again this week. when is the heavy rain chronicles add on being released?

AcidCrashX 25 March, 2010 @ 12:07 pm   12

MIKEFACE!

tell Ross he’s under the thumb and needs to name his cat Ichigo.. his Mrs is clearly wrong.

Great update this week. Think i’ll be grabbing myself some Valkyria Chronicles DLC! good work on the avatars too. Anything exciting down the pipe you can tell us humble people about?

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:16 pm

If only I could share all the lovely information I get to see about future content…but I can’t :(

Hey Mike,

How are things? Good I hope!

Not much on there for me this week except for Eye of Judgment Legends – Master Pack shall be mine! :)

i’ll try out the Greed Corp demo

Do you know if the Just Cause 2 limited edition DLC will be put on the store at some point?

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:16 pm

Not that I know of, but I’m not sure, so we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more info.

Where is Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3? Where is Silent Hill? Where is Crash Bandicoot 2? Where are the Oddworld games?

And most of all, when does the Video Store come to The Netherlands?

Envisager 25 March, 2010 @ 12:10 pm   17

Aww, I was expecting some new DJ Hero DLC this week.

JordanBlack68 25 March, 2010 @ 12:10 pm   18

V00D00CHARL1E 25 March, 2010 @ 12:11 pm   22

Any news on that Hamster Ball game Mike, looked quite good from what I’ve seen.

Is it on the horizon?

methinks I’ll have the MAG dlc, Heavy Rain forest theme and a bit of Madison for my avatar! What time is the store set to update?

Kotatsu2000 25 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   24

I thought the first Heavy Rain DLC chapter was supposed to come out today? Isn’t it out today in the US? Poor, effort if it is, as the game was developed in Europe.

Carnivius_Prime 25 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   25

I’ll take the ZEN Pinball table. Nothing much else for me this week and I’m kinda broke anyways so that’s probably good. Would love some new Uncharted 2 premium avatars. Not sure why there’s always a big gap between batches of those avatars. Surely they can’t take long to make and would make sony a nice lil bit of extra money even at those prices. I wouldn’t even mind if they just used the character select portraits of Uncharted 2 as new avatars and could display our most used skin’s portrait in PSN.

djax-djax 25 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   26

“I believe you kept asking about Pinball Heroes, and now you don’t want it…

…well, we try and please everyone”

I look forward for Pinball Heroes, but waiting for the moment, as soon as I will download it. It may suddenly dissapear from PSN store, as for example Williams Pinball :-).

Thanks for the Pinball Heroes! Williams Pinball will be next week?

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:13 pm

There are no plans for it to disappear djax-djax ;)

As for Williams Pinball, it’s coming, I just can’t say anything other than that at the moment.

The_Shuffle 25 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   27

Hey Mike, Do you have any news (or even hints if you can’t officially tell us) when Planet Minigolf will be released please? Weeks? Months? Just a soon or ages will do. I loved the beta but it was so short and I can’t wait to play it again!

1st april for heavy rain dlc i heard

elhozzo3 25 March, 2010 @ 12:13 pm   29

Suzzopher 25 March, 2010 @ 12:13 pm   31

Cheers for the response Mike :)

Devilater 25 March, 2010 @ 12:13 pm   32

Heavy Rain Avatars!!!

Please do some for FF XIII!

Sasukekun 25 March, 2010 @ 12:14 pm   33

What’s this ‘Super Money Ball Adventure’ for the PSP?
Methinks you have a typo there Kebby!

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:20 pm

    You’ve never played Moneyball…you haven’t lived :D

    Yeah, thanks for spotting the typo there ;

kool-chris93 25 March, 2010 @ 12:14 pm   34

Any chance of the GAME IS JUST THE START commercials on the PlayStation Store? Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, God of War 3 etc. :D

jiggamanjoe 25 March, 2010 @ 12:15 pm   35

please please please bring Soul Reaver to the EU store ;_;

Shadowdragoon 25 March, 2010 @ 12:16 pm   36

Any chance of a Crossregion gifting option?
or astleast when the Comics are avavible in Norway/rest of EU?

mike is there no chance of the store getting a ratings system so even without demos we could know if games are good or not .

Cheers Mr Kebby. :)

But you never seem to answer questions about the Flower soundtrack. :( Is there simply no news?

I know you probably couldn’t supply the details, but I’d love to know what’s taking them so long. It’s their music, everyone wants to publish it, licensing can’t be difficult… what on Earth’s the hold-up? Someone (probably in the legal department, wasting everybody’s time) is holding out on us.

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:21 pm

It was coming, then it was moved back, and at the moment I don’t have a confirmed date :( Hopefully soon, but I need to prod some people gently (and nicely) to get an exact date ;)

Hi Mike,

Any date for Mod Nation for PSP?

Thanks

stephenc87 25 March, 2010 @ 12:19 pm   40

Glad to see a demo for Greed Corp. Although I don’t understand why it couldn’t have come out when the game came out.

beowulf07 25 March, 2010 @ 12:19 pm   41

xchris2008x 25 March, 2010 @ 12:20 pm   44

lol didnt see that blog post. thanks mike

Dutch_Dog 25 March, 2010 @ 12:21 pm   45

i put 20 euros on my account just to buy all heavy rain content,
now i see all the avatars, have too get them all!
thnx!
mike.. merry me!

Mike I know its probably not your field but could you ask the guys who make the store if they could add screen shots onto the game pages, so we can at least get a look at the game we have never heard of…like the Japanese store, just 3 little screen shots.

I’m sure if the Japanese store can manage it, it shouldn’t be too hard for you guys. I know I would be more inclined to make impulse purchases if I had screen shots.

Dan

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:25 pm

I’ve looked into this previously (pre-preview function), and because we now have a preview function we don’t want to add images inside the long description too.

AKGermany 25 March, 2010 @ 12:23 pm   47

Heavy Rain avatars – I’m tempted change my wholesome Loco Roco into one from that collection of criminals/psychopaths/drug addicts. ;-)

craigiversen 25 March, 2010 @ 12:24 pm   48

Mike, I know this is not your department, but please point me in the right direction.

I’m not usually an “angry at Playstation” guy, but I am at the moment. My credit card (which I have honestly spent a couple of thousand (at least) on) has stopped working, so I won’t be able to buy anything. I have checked with my bank and they have been VERY thorough. They tell me that my attempts to pay have been okayed by them, same as always. The tell me that the payments are not being accepted by Playstation.

I have re-entered my info a few times under account management, being very careful to get it right. It still won’t accept.

I’m not sure what to do, as the Playstation New Zealand site gives me no clue how to sort this, my PS3 tells me nothing useful and frankly I’m beat.

I’ve had to look up forums to get ideas, such as making sure all my street address info is on line one only and it still doesn’t work. Tried to load money via my PC and Media Go, still doesn’t work.

I’ve worked, (and I mean worked) to try and be a customer over the last 3 days, yet I’m not getting any assistance. What other business makes things tough, for people to get help to PAY THEM? I know it’s not your fault, but please, help. :)

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:27 pm

Have you contacted the local NZ customer service helpline? It will be found on the back of your PS3 game manuals, or if you look on the store there should be an email address inside the help/Service area (press select when inside the store).

Sorry you’re having a tough time trying to purchase at the moment… :(

Devilater 25 March, 2010 @ 12:25 pm   49

When is this update supposed to be up because i’m kinda bored and youtube isn’t working so i have nothing to do.

Suzzopher 25 March, 2010 @ 12:27 pm   50

Hey Mike

Fancy being a quest on a podcast?

    Mike Kebby 25 March, 2010 @ 12:29 pm

Self-publicity, imposing my personal opinions…would love to :D Though I’m not sure if I’d be allowed. Unless I use a sneaky pseudonym…ahem.
