For those with even a passing interest in motorsports, there’ll be only one thing on the mind this weekend – a small town in Germany called Nurburg.
The next few days will see the annual 24HR race take over the famous Nurburg race track – Nurburgring.
Drivers and racing fans from all over the world will be present in huge numbers during a 4 day festival of all things motoring.
It’s at this event where lucky attendees will be able to experience the latest milestone in the development of Gran Turismo 5 – a bank of interactive pods hosting the very newest Gran Turismo 5 code featuring the Nurburgring in all of its full, twisting banking, flat out glory.
For the first time in the history of the GT series, gamers will be able to test their racing mettle on all three circuits of this iconic course.
So now you’ll have the option – do the 24HR race, get to grips with the full Nordschleife circuit or now try out the shorter but still technically difficult GP track.
Of course not everyone’s going to be lucky enough to make it to Nurburgring this weekend and more’s the shame but not to worry, feast your eyes on these images and look forward to getting your turn on GT5 very soon.
There’s more news to come on Gran Turismo 5 and its going to appear here on PlayStation Blog, gran-turismo.com and Facebook so keep checking back.

Can’t you guys just wrap things up already? I’m sure that it this stage there’s tons more content than GT4 could ever have had, and you can just patch/DLC the rest if you plan to expand. Getting sick of waiting tbh!

So I now have to got to a Mercedes garage to drive a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG and to the Nurburgring to race the Nordschleife.
You could just, oh…I dunno…release the damn game already.
As it is I could probably make a Franken-GT5 out of all the demos, trials and installations spread all over the planet.
We don’t even have a fixed release date for the full title!

Why can’t Sony just say the release date will be announced at E3? It doesn’t spoil anything, and everyone would shut up whining then.

The hype for this game is slowly fizzling out. Everyone is kept in the dark about this game, releasing a time trial for it in December which didn’t represent the quality of the final game was very dissapointing. The game needs regular video updates, a new public demo preferably one of the ones shown at TGS or Gamescomm, give us something.

Thank you, fantastic to see spectators camping on the sidelines like the real event.
Could we have the rest of the pictures shown on the official Japanese GT website in HD also please?

“For those with even a passing interest in motorsports, there’ll be only one thing on the mind this weekend” – yes, the Monaco GP!

“… look forward to getting your turn on GT5 very soon.”
Are you serious? I hear these infamous words since Jesus was born.

Btw, can you upload the other new pictures in high-res which can be found on the official japanese Gran Turismo page?

So I have to spend money that I don’t have to travel to Germany just to do a few laps at Tokyo in GT5?
Why not release a demo in the store instead?
I’m happy to know this is happening, but truly; release the damn game…

are you going to release the Mercedes AMG/Nurburgring demo that’s currently available to play in selected Merc’ dealerships on the Store anytime soon? Seems a bit of a gyp to be honest.
“look forward to getting your turn on GT5 very soon.”
i guessing that’s what this statement refers to rather than us getting, y’know, the full game before December.

Take your time. I’m sick of rushed products and releases. Gran Turismo has always been about perfection, and always arrives when it’s ready.
Whilst it may upset the childish “I WANT IT NOW” crowd, who are used to getting inferior rushed products, I would rather wait until it’s done, there is plenty to occupy me until then on Playstation.

I know I shouldnt’ but I am starting to worry a little about the status & quality of the game on the PS3. Why is it that we don’t have any direct captures from the PS3.
The screens are from a PC which is obvious from their 5760 x 3240 (insane) resolution, why no PS3 native res, or are the PC renders?
Can we please get some footage/screenshots taken from a PS3?

“…get to grips with the full Nordschleife circuit…”
Is that hinting to the true full circuit of the mountain and the GP circuit joined?

“The hype for this game is slowly fizzling out.”
Sure it is. The net still melts with traffic every time there’s GT5 news.
“Whilst it may upset the childish “I WANT IT NOW” crowd, who are used to getting inferior rushed products, I would rather wait until it’s done, there is plenty to occupy me until then on Playstation.”
Amen, bro.
Forza 2 and 3 got patched. In fact, they got patched about every month, and some things T10 refused to fix, like the livery editor in F2 and the broken online and file handling in in 3. Maybe because they couldn’t. Is that what you whiny little kids want??

A note to Sony:
I really appreciate the tease information you release about games on this site. It adds to their interest and exites a lot of people. However, Im BORED of hearing about a game that continues to be delayed. My interest in this product died some time ago. Either release the game or stop releasing information about it. For me atleast, information about this game has become BORING!
Please let GT5 die in peace.

@djreplay
You might want to do some research next time.
ALL Gran Turismo releases (prologues excepted) have launched 4-5 years into ther consoles life (this was true for PS1 and PS2 versions of GT).
Nothing had changed. The PS3 version will also be launching around the same time.
The only difference is the childish and immature attitude of some people.

@st0rmbr1nger: That’s wrong. GT3 released just 1 year after the PS2.
