Hello everyone! My name’s Tom Bramwell and I’m the editor of a website called Eurogamer.net. We do reviews, news, that sort of thing – but we also run an annual event called the Eurogamer Expo and we’ve got an absolute TON of PlayStation 3 stuff there this year, so I thought you might want to hear about it!
The Eurogamer Expo is at Earls Court in London next Friday, Saturday and Sunday (1st to 3rd October) and consists of a huge show floor where you can play the likes of Gran Turismo 5, inFAMOUS 2, Killzone 3 and more, as well as a special auditorium where top game developers like Media Molecule and Guerrilla Games will be presenting their games and taking questions from the public.
When we started the Expo our goal was to put on an event where everyone can come along and play the games they REALLY want to play without having to queue for four hours. I’ve done that at E3 and it is not fun! Over the years we’ve expanded it to include all sorts of other fun stuff and nowadays it’s a really great place to play games, talk to developers and meet like-minded gamers.
Enough of the hard sell though – you probably just want to hear exactly which PlayStation 3 games we have and which of your favourite developers are speaking, so here’s a rundown:
Playable games!
- Gran Turismo 5
- Heavy Rain (Move Edition)
- inFAMOUS 2
- Killzone 3 (some DualShock 3, some Move control)
- LittleBigPlanet 2
- MotorStorm Apocalypse
- SOCOM: Special Forces
- Sports Champions (Move)
- The Fight (Move)
- The Shoot (Move)
Developer sessions and public Q&A!
- Sucker Punch presents inFamous 2
- Guerrilla Games presents Killzone 3
- Media Molecule presents LittleBigPlanet 2
- Evolution Studios presents MotorStorm Apocalypse
Not content with that, we will also have a few 3D TVs on hand so you can experience PlayStation 3 titles in 3D – Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3 and MotorStorm Apocalypse will all be available to try out in this configuration too.
As you can see we’ve also got PlayStation Move, so if you haven’t tried that yet – and you should – this is a great opportunity to see how it works in a variety of games.
There’s a lot of other Sony-related stuff going on too. Media Molecule’s having a fan meet-up at the event and should be selling some hot LittleBigPlanet merchandise, and of course there are tons of third-party games that will be available on PlayStation 3 for you to try as well – including Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Brink, Crysis 2, FIFA 11, Fallout: New Vegas, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and PES 2011. Yes, absolutely all of them are playable. We don’t believe in videos!
Tickets for Saturday at the Expo have now completely sold out, but we still have a few left for Friday 1st October and Sunday 3rd October. They’re priced £8 for the whole day and we’re open between 11am and 7pm. Head over to expo.eurogamer.net to buy tickets and get involved, and follow us on Twitter (@Eurogamer_Expo) or Facebook for more updates. We’ve still got some cool announcements to make in the next week.
I’ll be around throughout the Expo along with the rest of the Eurogamer gang (we’ll be the guys in the blue Eurogamer t-shirts) so if you see me feel free to say hello. We’re even doing an “Ask Eurogamer” session at 4pm on the Sunday, so pop along if you have a question about games journalism or want to offer moral support or heckle me. Whatever you do though, I hope to see you at the Eurogamer Expo. Expo!

Is no-one from Sony able or willing to answer p l e a s e.
As a proud MOVE owner:
When is Echocrome 2 released??
I loved the demo and would really love to buy it!
I asked this in 2 other threads but either got ignored or deleted (what the heck??)!

I hope we hear word of the Little Big Planet 2 Collectors Edition.
I also hope to see the European Special Edition for Castlevania.
It seems like a good time to show it.

and sonys biggest anouncement is a public apology for ever releasing the pspGO and a apology for the lack off content in the SCEE store.

We need demand another rendition of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun on Singstar Tom. Oh wait it’s not in Leeds so I won’t hear it
Totally understand why you couldn’t make it happen again. Maybe if you did one in Manchester the lazy publishers would have less ground to travel and wouldn’t moan about sore feet so much.
Posted on 24 September, 2010 at 3:57 pm by Tom Bramwell
Haha. I’m not sure the world needs more videos of me singing! Although I am clearly shameless enough to link it again here for anyone who hasn’t seen it.
We had a great time in Leeds last year and I’m sorry we aren’t able to be there this year. We’re exploring various options to enhance and expand the Expo next year and beyond, so hopefully we’ll be back one day!

I will be there on Saturday and am hoping to see the LBP2 talk and the Killzone 3 talks.
The Sony line-up is impressive and I’m also looking forward to play Brink and see Rage and surprisingly, see what Gears of War 3 has to offer.

I can’t wait!!! I’ll be there on saturday. The games top of my list to play are: Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, inFamous 2, and LitteBigPlanet 2. Also Brink, Crysis 2, and NFS Hot Pursuit. This is my first gaming Expo. It’s going to be great!
Will Sony be revealing anything, or is this just playing games only Expo?

I got really excited, thought I could play KZ3… Then remembered I’m 16, not 18 for all the good games I would actually want to play
Shame the law goes by age and not maturity…

@ KillerXp82
Its going to be a lot of fun regardless on what day your going on, i went on Sunday last year and had a blast with 3 of my mates, were going again this year on Sunday and we cannot wait, whats good about Sunday is the queue for the games tend to be a lot more shorter

@NGKiDD
Thank you for letting me know, I’ve never been before so not sure what to expect. All the talk about it seems to be about Friday & Saturday but queues being shorter Sunday sounds good to me

These things are always in London
Are their any PS3 events like this planned for the North-east area (Newcastle Etc)?

Get back to work Bramwell – joke, good to see you posting on here!
Now get back to work on the podcast, Gibson’s had enough time unleashed! haha
As others have said in this thread already…shame about Leeds not happening but as a Eurogamer reader, I know and understand the reasons.
Peace

“play the games you want without a 4 hour que”….yer right , where you even there last year . there wasnt even a que system to start with. just hordes of people grouped round tvs , to the point that if you were under 6 foot then you wouldnt even be able to see them . let alone working out who is playing next. staff were supposed to be checking on the booths to keep people moving. that didnt happen once . i watched one woman play the heavy rain demo for over an hour for the pure reason that she kept dieing and felt that it was her right to finish it no matter how long it took

Haha!!! They’ve used the picture of me and my friend’s again!
I got on the main page of their website last year, when I dressed up as a Zombie. My friend Chris is on the left, my friend Alex is the one being eaten, and I’m the one on the right with the camo hoody/coat on.
I’m going again this year, except as Chuck Greene, so keep an eye out. I’m hopeing they’ll feature me on their main page again this year. Maybe I could be their mascot. XD

@ CapCortez.
I think you might possibly find, due to the user agreement that we all sell our selves to the pits of Bush’s Texas to, that your image and actual likenesses no longer belong to you, but to Sony…ergo it’s not really you any more is it? You have become an official holding of Sony’s. Please report to A. House’s EU Sony palace for re-extermination, and/or work detail packing discs in boxes. Have computer experience? Please report to SCEA antartic branch of Home(it’s secret, like everything else going down there)as Sony’s personal error code sender outer to all of the world’s remaining phats in order to YL them to D(particularly when psn goes ‘down’ on leap-years around feb 29 & on blue moons as well) Thank you.

@Procion I have no idea what you’re going on about, but yes I am aware that I can be posted around the net for Sony and Eurogamer….which is why I want it to happen again this year.
I’ll be a semi-famous gamer! :p
