‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 7th November 2012

I’ve waited for Crysis 2 and for WWE ’13 FAN AXXESS discount for whole week (not mentioning that fan axxess at discount was told to be on last week’s update) and now Sony is giving me a middle finger? Another great achievement from Sony EU!

I CANT delete item (Crysis 2) from my cart.. It is still there for 750CZK (30E) even though it should be free for PS+. Now i cant download it for free becose it says In Cart… BRILLIANT STORE!!! Nobel Prize for you guys!

Crysis 2 is listed in my Whats New icon on PS but on the Store it still listed as £19.99 and not in my Instant game collection section
Also managed to find Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and Cubixx HD by searching for it but it was also not listed in the instant game collection

Here’s 4 simple words of advice for wony that will probably make everyone a lot happier – CHANGE THE STORE BACK

Since the new store was introduced I haven’t been able to download LBP2, Motorstorm or inFamous 2. Kinda annoying since I just bought a new PS3! Any one else had this trouble?

Just a few things I wanna say
1. I appreciate you updating people on the store and trying to reply to as many comments as possible- as small as that may seem it actually helps quite a lot as I was gonna ask about DMC as I cant see it on the store yet.
2. As a suggestion- could you make a calendar or table of game/add on releases and then a list of games that you have no details for that you can update regularly- it would save having to repeat and respond to many comments. Thanks in advance.

also can we have a need for speed most wanted demo?

I’ve been away for the last month or so, so this will be late comment and possibly everyone already complained about this, thus I’m not going to brag that:
* new store interface is horrible – you’re cloning tiled interface of newest MS product that everyone are already tired off,
* it’s slow even on 100 Mb/s broadband; it’s loading dozens of unnecessary graphics in the background plus resizing them on demand; just text and small screenshot/logo for each product would be fine, save larger graphics for users who are actually interested in each product and selected it from the list,
* fullscreen screenshots look bad, they were taken in big resolution, resized to save bandwith to smaller images and then streched again to fit screen, same goes with video trailers,
* searching with loading between each letter is very annoying – either download full list of possible matches on entering search and then filter it in real time or initiate search after entering full phrase and confirming it,
* there are new categories (e.g. platform) but still best selling games are listed only for few of them,
* what’s new now have few most advertised titles presented and the real what’s new list is hidden deeper.

Will the there be made any speed optimisations to the store?
Its still really slow to startup and it takes way too many steps to download something (7 steps iirc). I find it confusing to see whats new for PS+ users or whats new at all on the main screen. Also When i goto the PS+ screen why is there a banner for PS+ that fills half the screen? You don’t have to advertise PS+ to user that already have it.

Sorry for the (CENSORED), i just think Sony dropped the ball updating the store.

But enough of this. What is really bad is that I feel cheated a lot. In the old version of store there were 3 parts of Alien Breed game available as trial and full version 29 zl each. Next, there was Alien Breed Trilogy added for 75 zl – that is a price for 3 games so you save 12 zl. Fine. But in the newest version there is only Alien Breed Trilogy available. So if I bought part 1 year ago, part 2 half year ago, and now want to play part 3, I have to buy part 1 + 2 + 3 for 75 zl! So basically, for ability to play all parts I would need to pay 29 (1st part) + 29 (2nd part) + 75 (3rd part from Trilogy bundle) zl. Now that’s not funny.

And yet again you didn’t post any updates on Metal Slug Anthology for PS2 comming to PS3. That’s 7 MS parts in one. I belive it would be a smash hit to sell – you’re selling Metal Slug 1 and 2 for 34 zl each, even if it would cost 100 zl it would be still a bargain. Plus it’s still a very popular game. I’m not going even to ask why there is no new But-a-Move going to PS3 if it was released on XB some time ago, and according to MS generated good profit…

Sorry guys this is completly different but I need some advice. one of my so called friends had my account on his ps3, i wouldnt of put it on their if i didnt trust him. well, anyway he’s the only person that has my account and i went on the fifa 13 web app and my players have been taken away, i havent done anything stupid like coin genorators or anything like that, and i know it was my mate. what should i do? is he really a friend to abuse my account like that? i’ve changed my password, what ilse shall i do? I can only say one thing: Sony has totally let me down few months back with major PS+ content problems but I’ve given them another chance and now they repay me like this?!
Change this Danny store back to its working state or at least speed this one up!! It’s working slower than a PC with DOS on it!

We always getting what we were promised, no reason to be [CENSORED] off because a game will appear a few hours later. You will have it before weekend anyway. 1) PS Store is kinda mess now. It’s harder to find things without reading your posts, since add-ons are scattered around the latest add-ons randomly. Please fix this and create ‘latest’ page like old one, which showed us ALL new content. I keep missing things due this. I still personally think “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”, but… well, new shop is quite cool though clumsy and messy. It just needs to be… 120% cooler to work. (lol) GL with improvements.

2) Great update! Keep up good work!

this new store is now really testing me. the store hasn’t updated yet and the US got their updats dead on the start of the day. i found R&C via search, but when looking for Crysis 2 it still says £19.99 when i go to the special offers section i can see the new sale to the right, but when i click right it’s still saying halloween sale with the previous sale. do Sony even care about the problems on the store for EU customers? i think not.

one more thing, the new store is just utterly terrible. everyone was happy with the previous version. Sony jazzed it up and made it even harder to find items. what’s even more annoying is various games have an unlock key, but no actual trial to download. if Sony wanna keep customers happy, go back to the previous version.

Here’s an idea, you should change the official date that updates to the store go live to thursdays. That way you could keep working the way you presently do and updates to the store would have the entire wednesday evening and night to bug out, crash the store or simply vanish never to be mentioned by you again Anomaly: Warzone Earth-style.

Fawlty towers should not be the model for how you run the company guys.

Why is the store so slow to update? iT’S 8PM over here and there is still nothing on latest PS3 games. I guess you are hiding the games on another link.

Jawad, I don t unerstand what SCEA is trying to pull off with Retro City Rampage ?
The game is done and is available in Europe on STEAM for a month, so what s this lame “no news from dev excuse” ?
The ball is in Sony hands, so you got to know what s really going on !!
There is another game that been available for a while on us PSN butstill no news in Europe, so I d like to have some news of Sine More for PS3 & VITA ?

Same thing happened to me when I tried to get Crysis 2, I have 0 in my wallet, PSN wanted me to find £19.99 for it even when it said “free” so i removed it from the cart.

To remove from the cart, hover over Crysis 2, then press left and you should see an X.

Where are Crysis and R&C? They still cost money and aren’t free!!

and Cubixx is just a bloody trial.

The contents of Store Updates are MOOT until these issues with the latest firmware and store are rectified.

The store takes so long to load I usually give up waiting. When I do get in, it’s frustrating to find anything.

Trophies now sync DURING games. This is SO annoying. Tried to check my progress during an online game of Borderlands 2 and the sync process froze me there in place for 10+ minutes (‘cancel’ option did nothing) unable to close the XMB

Furthermore, the Trophy menu has been moved to a stupid place. Presumably to make room for the even-more-stupid singstar icon.

Seriously, everything in the last few software updates has been a DOWNGRADE. Until the store performance is addressed, I can’t see me buying anything… the other issues are just putting me off the console altogether.

Jawad basically said we wouldn’t be getting the plus stuff today. You just need to read “Thats the plan” as “No you won’t, but I’d rather lie to you and go home, maybe deal with it tomorrow”.
