New on PlayStation Store: The Wolf Among Us, Mousecraft and more

Plus, a raft of new discounts go live this week

Cry Wolf, the final episode of TellTaleGames’ The Wolf Among Us is available today on PlayStation 3. What secrets will be uncovered? What outcome will your previous decisions make in this finale?

What would you get if you crossed Tetris and Lemmings? What would you get if you also threw in a slightly eccentric cat? The answer is Mousecraft! Stack blocks strategically to aid your lab mice on their quest for cheese. Help them avoid dangerous traps and guide them safely over 50 different levels.

Also continuing this week is the Big in Japan promotion featuring loads of Japanese games at low, low prices. The new Champions Offers promotion also starts today, featuring a raft of additional savings. Look out for more on that later today.

Can You Explain Why ONLY 2 Replies and Why we are still missing many PS+ Discounts: 491 Comments 2 Author replies
I Posted here because you have totally ignored the original topic. Where is:
Final Fantasy IV (Discount goes live Thursday 3rd July) (Shame it’s the 9th and this still hasn’t Happened!)
now €4.99/AU$7.55/£3.99 (STILL NOT DISCOUNTED!)
“Fred Dutton 4 July, 2014 @ 11:57 am 212.1

Right, all discounts should now be live and visible on Store, or will be within the next 30 minutes depending on where in Europe you are. Sorry to keep you all waiting.”
Fred U have a very strange concept of time, 5 DAYS LATER and we still haven’t reached YOUR 30Mins…

    LordBeloved 9 July, 2014 @ 2:38 pm

    To be fair Fred did comment here: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/07/08/driveclub-ps4-hardware-bundle-unveiled/#comment-532265

    “Apologies for the ongoing issues with some of these deals. The team are working to fix everything and I’ll update asap.”

    Not that I have any hope that everything will be fixed. Front Mission 3 still isn’t on the Dutch store either.

    Roxas598 9 July, 2014 @ 2:38 pm

    i’m pretty sure FFIV was a mistake and they meant FFIX mainly because FFIV is 15.99 and only a PSP game on the store so the price doesn’t match up and FFIX went on sale at the price listed there.

    Not saying it’s right it’s just might be what happened there….really lousy they said nothing about it

    It’s not a surprise, right? They mess up every single week for more then 9 years now.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 2:51 pm

    @Roxas598
    Nope it wasn’t mistake on Square Enix blog there is also FF IV but not IX…

    eoinoreilly24 9 July, 2014 @ 2:52 pm

    @Roxas598 For FFIV, the pricing was wrong but the link is correct. It’s fairly unclear where the mistake is but it’s obviously a headscratcher since it’s still there a week later.

    Roxas598 9 July, 2014 @ 2:55 pm

    Ah i wasn’t aware square had a post up swell about it, guess I was putting two and two together then ah well!

    xYakuzaz 9 July, 2014 @ 2:57 pm

    @OttoT
    More than 9 years? The PlayStation Store isn’t even 8 years old…

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:13 pm

    My sincere apologies on the delays with some of the deals, I know you guys have been very patient and I must thank you for that.

    In regard to FFIV, there are some issues but it will be sorted out today. The correct price is unfortunately higher – £7.99/€9.99.

    @LordBeloved, FM will be sorted out as well.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 3:23 pm

    @Lord Jawad
    Bit sad… I was waiting to grab Final Fantasy IV… but with new price, kinda not worth it

    But anyway thank you for info.

    LordBeloved 9 July, 2014 @ 4:12 pm

    @Jawad:

    I hope you understand that -most of us- do understand that your trying you and the rest of the team are trying your best. It’s the lack of communication that’s frustrating.

    I suggest you guys make more general posts to inform us that your (still) aware of certain issues, and -most importantly!- give us a way to communicate with you! By this I mean: give us a contact form which we can use to inform you of problems with the store. By posting below an article we have to be lucky for you to read our posts.

    LordBeloved 9 July, 2014 @ 4:13 pm

    Minus “your trying”, I re-wrote that part of the post… :(

    Bovrillor 9 July, 2014 @ 6:01 pm

    I’m guessing there’s technical difficulties today as well, since there’s no sign of these ‘Champions Offers’ being touted. Though I expect it’ll be a raft of junk sports games anyway…

    MoFoMedia 10 July, 2014 @ 9:17 pm

    Don’t forget the Mutant Blobs Attack debacle while we are it, still waiting for that to get resolved

Dominikk_pl 9 July, 2014 @ 2:34 pm   2

I still can’t download full PS3 version of Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack after buying Delicious Vita Upgrade almost 3 weeks ago. The only difference now is that it’s not even described as “purchased” for me on the store anymore. Can you please fix this or at least refund everyone affected by this bug?

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:44 pm

    Thanks for posting the weekly store update, jawad :)

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:53 pm

    AND ITS COMPLETELY AWESOME how there will be even more new sales incoming today. THANKS JAWAD! Ignore the haters!

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:15 pm

    Waiting to hear back on this one. Should not be too long now.

    Qismat 9 July, 2014 @ 3:17 pm

    Still waiting to see this issue fixed too.

    Also, cross-buy doesn’t seem to be working for Escape Plan Collection: I’ve bought the PS Vita version but I can’t get the PS4 version for free (and no, the PS4 items are not in my download list, only the PS Vita ones).

    xYakuzaz 9 July, 2014 @ 3:44 pm

    @gta5rockt
    He’s not hating, he’s just trying to find a solution for the problem he encountered on the PlayStation Store, and rightfully so. It’s part of Jawad’s job to assist users with PlayStation Store problems so it would be bad if he ignored it like you told him to.

    Sedalo84 9 July, 2014 @ 7:05 pm

    I had the same problem.
    I tried to contact the customer service, and nothing happened.

NomaDz777 9 July, 2014 @ 2:35 pm   3

BTW NICE PS ViTA DEAL OF THE WEEK, IF SONY DO NOT WISH TO SUPPORT THEIR PORTABLE THEN JUST SAY IT!

Benjamin1353 9 July, 2014 @ 2:35 pm   4

Can someone please tell me when The Last of Us Remastered will be available for digital Pre-order in the UK.

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:44 pm

    Does this look like a helpline or information office to you?

    Benjamin1353 9 July, 2014 @ 2:56 pm

    No but it looks like a place where Sony can give me a reply on something I have wanted to know for a few weeks considering the US can already pre-order

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:16 pm

    Fairly soon, I am led to believe. When I have a confirmed date we’ll let you know.

Hanzoadam 9 July, 2014 @ 2:36 pm   5

Not impressed by anything on there like most weeks ¬_¬

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:45 pm

    Yeah its a 1-7 but every week :D

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:49 pm

    Wondering “raft of sales” if this means there will be more sales than the weekly deal (which is a great new addition BTW). Was hoping for a watch dogs sale, but still :)

In today’s PS4 deals of the week: cross-buy dlc for a game people mostly play on PS3 anyway, so no big loss there anyway. If not for that, who knows, we might have accidentally made a deal on a legit game, thank Spaghetti for DLCs.

Roxas598 9 July, 2014 @ 2:39 pm   7

Jawad what’s the release for the next walking dead episodes? only just bought it so not sure when the next episode is expected

and then add 2 weeks on top of that expected date of course

benzopil 9 July, 2014 @ 2:40 pm   8

Looks like you totally forgot about Vessel for Russia and Ukraine… Give us any replacement if you can’t make it available here, please.

    skh_ep 9 July, 2014 @ 3:15 pm

    Personally I find this absolutely baffling. It’s been a week and apparently it’s not enough time to fix this. Seriously guys, did you even notice this problem? Any comments would be appreciated.

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:22 pm

    It’s being fixed to be available for you in Russia (and Ukraine)

smashing1234 9 July, 2014 @ 2:41 pm   9

Will Oddworld New & Tasty be available for pre-order on PS4 sometime this month? Also, what time does the store usually go live at BST?

    frimo_online 9 July, 2014 @ 2:54 pm

    They still seem to be fixing things from last week. So I guess the official word would be “eventually”. Never seems to be fixed. Before Christmas, used to be before the blog post, then it was “3PM GMT the latest”, then unofficially by 5-6PM. But seems to be whenever that one database guy who works for SCEE gets around to it.

Coheno 9 July, 2014 @ 2:41 pm   10

No Destiny Digital Guardian Edition pre-order? When will that be up?

Rochala 9 July, 2014 @ 2:41 pm   11

Hi Jawad , a bit off topic question, but do you know if more games will be added today at Big in Japan sale?

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 2:53 pm

    That’s something unheard of…. so I’m afraid that no

    But yeah… I’d love if they would add Valkyria Chronicles 2

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:58 pm

    Maybe next week? As today we get more of that other sale :)

    Rochala 9 July, 2014 @ 3:05 pm

    It’s not the first time they will add more games in a theme’s second week sales, if they do it of course.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 3:18 pm

    @Rochala
    Yes you are right… but only if some parts of sale is going down…. this time we have 2 week sale for all of content.

    But hey I might be wrong.

    AlphaSpookster 9 July, 2014 @ 3:19 pm

    @gta5rockt What sale is THAT OTHER SALE?? Not seen anything on a sale mentioned for today. Can you point me in the right direction??

    Rochala 9 July, 2014 @ 3:24 pm

    @Archacus
    Nothing personal, but I hope you are wrong :p

    @AlphaSpookster
    It’s a Champions Sale, Jawad mentioned it at the last paragraph of the post.

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:25 pm

    Not for that promo, no. There will be a bunch of other offers later today, that sit outside of BIJ though e.g. Dynasty Warriors NEXT, which is up already.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 5:07 pm

    @Rochala
    Believe me I often want to be mistaken :P

S3phi40T 9 July, 2014 @ 2:43 pm   12

…no word regards Destiny Expansion Pass Editions ? :(

pn3b0y 9 July, 2014 @ 2:43 pm   13

any chance of a couple requests? i’d like to see some SCE psp games on sale (outside of the japanese ones)
any idea if or if ever syphon filter 2 will come back to the store
any idea when the ps1/2/p sections will return on the psn store seeing as they’ve been gone for 3months plus now
and will TLOU grounded making of ever come to the psn store like you guys promised? i know it’s on youtube but i’d rather see it in decent quality rather than some compressed garbage on youtube

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 2:56 pm

    First of all… I’d like to see the games which are available in NA market

    Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve 1 and many games from PS2 like Odin Sphere :/

    Oh and also Japanese imports… nobody will persuade me that there is some problem with rights to titles that were never published in EU

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:30 pm

    Regarding the sections I haven’t had new information on when/how we’ll reimplement them but I will keep reminding our team of it.

    Syphon Filter is not likely and TLOU Grounded I’m unaware of its future plans.

AlphaSpookster 9 July, 2014 @ 2:44 pm   14

AC:BF yet again??? this was on sale only a few weeks ago. Come on Sony time to get some new deals negotiated

Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 2:45 pm   15

Please help us encourage SCEE to release the most anticipated game and system seller for Vita.

Sign a petition:
http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/sony-computer-entertainment-europe-scee-bring-freedom-wars-physical-edition-to-europe

For many of us not going for digital only is as good decision as not releasing at all. But we do understand that some group might like digital… the rest… well don’t.

    gta5rockt 9 July, 2014 @ 2:48 pm

    The only system seller that can save vita is Android.

    XDerKleineX 9 July, 2014 @ 2:51 pm

    You don’t have to go digital only to buy a single game digitally…

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 3:02 pm

    @XDerKleinX
    Nope to many of us this game will be nonexistent. It would mean for us that it never showed up in Europe.

    bubble_boy01 9 July, 2014 @ 3:18 pm

    Respect the stand Archacus but if you hold off buying it they’ll just look at the low digital downloads, figure there wasn’t much a market and it’ll justify in their minds their decision to not go physical. No win situation (although the petition helps, you’ve got my signature)

    TiggsPanther 9 July, 2014 @ 3:21 pm

    To those wondering why this is digital-only in the EU, I have to ask…
    Have you even thought of what production costs are involved in a physical version?

    Going by little bits I’ve picked up here and there to do with UK home video releases and comments here and elsewhere regarding game releases in the European regions, I can imagine that there are a whole lot of factors in play here.

    First and foremost, unlike things like ebooks digital video, digitally downloaded games are functionally identical to their physical counterparts. Although there are issues like DRM , there are likely less people put off digital games than digital other things.

    This will eat into potential physical sales figures which bring us onto:

    MINIMUM PRODUCTION RUN
    There will be a minimum amount of physical copies that they have to pay to produce. For some sorts of games this is easy to make back, even given a high amount of digital sales. For others, and this game may well be considered one of them, it is less than certain. And that is before taking into account some of the peculiarities of Europe as a release region.

    We aren’t a single country. Were a collection of several countries with multiple languages and differing national release standard. So there will be more languages and even potentially some edits for content that are required that the NA version simple won’t have.
    Which has the effect of meaning that they can’t just reuse the NA release and directly import a chunk of a production run. (It would be nice if they could )

    Oh, and then there will the requirement to ship units potentially across several borders. So getting to warehouses and stores will be logistically more complicated. And you would need to know how many copies to get to each country.

    Then you need to persuade the retailers to actually carry it. I don’t know what it’s like in other parts of Europe, hopefully somewhat better, but here in the UK the Vita takes up a tiny piece of space in your average gaming shop. And most of those, at a glance anyway, tend to be the mobile versions of high-profile franchises such as uncharted, Assassin’s Creed, etc.
    Yes, there are online stores, too. But a retail copy that can’t get full physical store penetration is probably a hard thing to justify in most circumstances.

    Put all of this together and I can understand why they aren’t wanting to do a physical release over here. Yes, there IS a demand. But it simply may not be high enough to break even.

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:28 pm

    I’ve let some guys here know about this, actually.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 3:29 pm

    @bubble_boy01
    Nope we already clearly said that most of us will boycott it… so if they have at least slightly competent analysts they should know the reason.

    @TiggsPanther
    Actualy all games are being produced in China… the cost of production is rather low. But they earn on retail about 30-35% and on digitals from first party 100%… they are just greedy.

    Will read your whole comment later, now I need to go back to work. I will reply to you later! I respect you for writing long reply! Really do!

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 3:42 pm

    @Lord Jawad
    Thank you. You are really great guy! If you wouldn’t bring this info to us it would be too late to act. You gave us a chance! :D

    @Tiggs
    “First and foremost, unlike things like ebooks digital video, digitally downloaded games are functionally identical to their physical counterparts.” how are those diffrent? Their value is nonexistant for us… that’s the case.

    Some time ago Ghostlight released 2k copies of retail game… it was viable for smaller studio and it isn’t for SCEE?

    Retail editions are never translated, we get exactly the same copies like guys in UK. And they are releasing game for both Americas not just USA… that’s more than one language.

    Most big stores, like amazon have stores in few countries… and it’s not a problem. + that’s not something that SCEE is worying about… that part is retailers job.

    Retailers get money from it… good enough point to persuade them

    So yeah… sorry but you are wrong

    bubble_boy01 9 July, 2014 @ 3:45 pm

    @Archacus
    They won’t unfortunately. It’ll be blokes in sales looking at figures. You could tattoo your blog posts on their arm and they’d still only look at the figures.

    TiggsPanther 9 July, 2014 @ 4:08 pm

    So 2000 is enough to break even. If we assume that that is the minimum that can get produced in a production run, you will still want to make a release where you are guaranteed to make that many physical sales.
    So far the petition is at apparently 1100 signatures, give or take. This would be a loss. Doesn’t matter how big or small a company is, if you aren’t confident of selling the bare minimum you can produce in your smallest production run you don’t go ahead with it.

    Also you have to bear in mind that for a small company such as Ghostlight, 2000 sales is quite the success. For a larger games publisher, such as Sony themselves, it would be a failure.

    And when you also bear in mind that as well as people who prefer the digital version there are people who would buy either. So even if there are 2000 people who would buy a physical copy, if you go digital-only it isn’t automatically 2000 lost sales. Some will just buy whatever version is out, on top of those who are fine with digital-only.

    Sad as it sounds, and as much as people don’t want to admit it, “die hard fandom” does not guarantee enough sales figures for a more costly release format. (I am a UK-based fan of Anime on Blu-ray. So I have looked into why some formats just can’t justify a production run)

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 4:28 pm

    1. But you are aware that not only people from petition will buy this game? It is kinda silly thing to say… like thinking that I got “9″ upvotes so only 9 people will buy game (-.-) 1000 people on one petition means that there are a lot of people who want it (not only 1000)

    2. Many of Vita owners are still not aware that there won’t be retail edition, they kinda sneaked info on us.

    3. You are implying that digital games are selling better… but in fact there is no evidence that it is the truth. Most people I know never bought single digital big game for Vita (not including PSX, PSP, minis, PSM).

    4. Profit is profit…loss is loss…

    5. They have something which they can loose very quickly by making bad decisions… and that’s customers. And they are first party studio! They can’t loose customers because it would mean game over for Vita.

    6. They won’t earn more on digital Freedom Wars because many people will just boycott it…

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 5:14 pm

    Also it doesn’t explain why they decided to release the game physically in the US.

    Wooouter 9 July, 2014 @ 6:15 pm

    @ Tiggs

    You can’t argue with Archacus, He just isn’t able to understand that taxes in EU are very different then the one’s in America. EU has a lot more country’s with a lot more different and higher taxes.

    There’s also the fact that almost every EU country has different rules about content. In some country’s you’ll have to censure more then others, so they will have to adjust the game different for 28 country’s. And then ofcourse the translations.. I still remember playing Pokémon red in German because i bought it there on vacation and they only supported German. There are a lot more country’s in EU where this is the case. While in America if you make and English and Spanish version you basicly got the whole continent covered.

    That aside, altough i personly prefer physical versions to, i’d rather see a company releasing a game digitaly and make a bit of money of it, and therefore create more games in the future,
    then releasing a physical version to and make a loss.
    And therefore stop developing more vita games in the future.

    The funny thing is that with he’s petition to stop buying digital games , he is hurting us to , because he’s making people stop buying (digital only)games and therefore making the developers not wanting to release here. It’s pretty obvious by now that they are more likely to not release a game here then releasing a physical copy.

    And btw, because you ( Archacus ) and a whole bunch of other people don’t want digital games, everyone else who isn’t realy bothered by buying digital may not have the abilty to buy or play this? That’s just as bad as SCEE not releasing phyisical copie’s here.
    It’s even worse since they atleast give you the ability to play them -,-

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 6:42 pm

    @Woouter
    Yes you can’t argue with me unless you are prepared… and sadly you are another person not prepared.

    1. What have taxes to do with retails? Those have ~20% Tax just like all digitals.
    2. SCEA is subject responsible for both Americas. That means that there are different tax systems in each countries as well… + states of USA also have different rates just like in EU.
    3. Just like EU there in USA there is no one “law”… each state has big autonomy… that’s why for examples in many states selling marihuana is banned and in others it is allowed. What’s more funny use of marihuana by the federal law is illegal. So yeah… you are proving that you have no idea what you are talking about. States have different law systems + SCEA is responsible for many other countries apart from USA.
    4. Translation of retail games is not needed… only it is needed for digital PSN (whoops.) I think that only France is translating boxes (not sure on that)… even if that was truth… the only thing which is being translated is just that thing single paper.
    5. Only Germany, Austria, Switzerland are censoring stuff (rest 25 is similar)
    6. Nobody translates games (where did it come from?!) only games for kids are being translated… but that’s the truth for both retail and digital
    7. Games for NA and EU are both produced in China. What’s even more funny on NA games you can find sign “CE” that means that product meets high creterion of EU law :P (not needed in NA)
    8.I could say the same about you… that by buying digital games you are hurting retail market… beh… great argument…
    9.And we never said “don’t make digital”

    so yeah… you just proved that you have no idea what you are talking about but felt that you need to tell something to justify buying digital. (personaly I don’t care)… please take your time on reading this.

    TiggsPanther 9 July, 2014 @ 7:02 pm

    @Nazar The US is a different market. A much larger single country with a much larger physical market size. Meaning that even a small marketshare has more actual number than any single European country. And as they’re a country in themselves, there’s only really one language and set of rules they have to play by. And once something is within the US, they don’t need to cross more borders to get to different parts of the landmass.

    It also means they only really have to deal with one set of retailers. As a random example, if they got a deal with Target, Wallmart and Gamestop then they have physical presence in three stores across the US. If they wanted do do a physical release in Europe, they’d be having to deal with more retailers simply because of which companies operate in which countries.
    And they will only have to deal with one packaging variant.

    Even if you have north America, including Canada, that’s only one additional country, one set of retailers and one additional language and potential packaging style.

    Europe, being a region comprised of multiple countries, is just going to have more logistical overhead dealing with physical releases than America does. Even if the fandom is the same across regions, Europe and the US really are totally different markets.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 7:49 pm

    @TiggsPanther

    1.Again not true 23% more PS3 sold in EU and about 30% Vitas more in EU… so we are clearly bigger market. And there are many games which sold better in EU than NA. For that we have data. And EU shops are importing like a mad games from NA due to simply fact: those are cheaper.

    2. EU has more unified market than USA… funny things but both subjects are federal. (Did you know that in 2004 countries were trying to sign “treaty establishing a constitution for Europe”? That time mass-media started panicking and they forced politicians to stop TCE…. but in 2008 we signed “Lisbon Treaty” its contents are exactly the same as TCE they only removed minor things like anthem of EU :P so yeah we are closer to being federal country than you think)… anyway just like I said we are more unified market than USA that’s paradox :P

    3. SCEA is responsible for both Americas… not only USA and Canada :/ how many times we must say it before you guys will get it?

    4. USA is more or less 30% bigger than EU with 30% less population…

    5. Once product cross EU border… there are no further borders (how about starting by learning facts? COMMON MARKET)

    6. States of USA have diffrent law systems… there is also federal state… pretty similar to EU situation. And SCEA is responsible for more than single USA….

    7. Retailers are buying games from wholesaler not from SONY :/ you really should spend some time on getting your facts… I can just bomb each of your “silly” arguments without any trouble :/

    8. SCEA is again responsible for both Americas… that’s quite a lot countries… not only Canada and USA

    9. That’s a problem of wholesalers and retailers… SONY is just selling games to wholesalers, and wholesalers are selling to retailers, retailers to customers… the one who pays for shipping is the side which is buying

    10. One product can be taxed only ONCE.

    So yeah… you have no idea what you are talking about….

    Wooouter 9 July, 2014 @ 10:38 pm

    @ Archacus

    You can’t compere different state’s in America with different country’s in EU.. there are a lot of country’s in EU who also have a federal system within there country, like Belgium for example..
    The thing with the taxes is that they have to ship to a lot of different country’s,
    and shiping to different country’s in EU cost’s more then shipping within America..
    Your comparison with the cannabis law makes no sence because thats a law.. that’s not censorship, the same rules of censorship apply to the whole Usa where law’s are different in different state’s. The right comparison would be that in some state’s video games in general are not allowed..
    There are a lot more country’s then France who do this, Germany and Spain are some others i know and there will probaly be a lot more. And yes they have to make a lot of manual translations that come inside your box for example. And I’m not hurting the retail market by buying digital only games digital, if i would buy physical games digital that would be a different case. That being said I give more about developers who create games ( especially the small ones or the ones that are just starting) then big store’s who sell games. Like i said before i prefer physical to , but with a system like Vita wich hasn’t sold very well i prefer a developer making a digital only game and make some money of it so he will create other games in the future then a developer who makes a boxed version to ,
    make a loss on it and never develop for the vita again. This is sadly the reality of the vita at this point. And keep in mind that in the long run the developer is the one who decide if they release a physical version and not sony.

    At least we’re getting it over here!
    Physical distribution is expensive especially when the number of units they’re likely to sell is relatively low.
    The cost savings can be put to bringing more Japanese Vita titles over here and they should translate into a decent price for the game.
    I’d say £19.99 would be ideal and significantly lower than the £29.99 rrp of most retail Vita releases.

    SuperJag86 9 July, 2014 @ 3:19 pm

    Having said that, I do think Sony should do more to lower the cost for memory cards.
    I can’t get a 64GB card from a trusted seller in the UK and the price of 32GB cards has actually increased lately :(

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 3:57 pm

    @superJag86
    So it is viable to release game for 30% smaller market (NA)?

    Stop trying to find justification… because there is non.

    We will get exaclty the same game as both Americas will get… no single element more, and it’s not SCEE translating game.

    Every game is produced in China… the rest is job of wholesalers and retailers: storage, shipping, delivery etc. I doubt that those game will even sit one day in SONY’s storage in Europe.

    But it is true that they are earning waaaaay less on physical games… but to earn first of all they need to sell product. And if large group will boycott it they won’t profit… simple as that.

    SuperJag86 9 July, 2014 @ 4:41 pm

    I’m not trying to justify anything for anybody, I was just suggesting a possible reason while trying to look for a positive (i.e. lower price).
    It’s up to every customer to decide what’s right for them but personally I think it’s a shame to miss out on what might be a good game just because it’s digital only.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 4:52 pm

    @SuperJag86
    Oh than excuse me, I thought that you were another guy who tries to make fun of people who are buying only physicals. It’s really simple… many say that you should be grateful that you get it… but in fact for many of us digital games are as good as nonexistent. It wouldn’t make for us any difference if there wouldn’t be digital Freedom Wars if we wouldn’t get retail…. we would treat it as if it never existed in EU.

    But you are 100% right that everyone decide on his own. If someone like digitals than I see nothing wrong in him buying it.

    Game released on Vita, Game mentioned in PS Blog, MOST LIKED COMMENT on this blog thread so far!
    O_O Thank you everyone! (Sony and the people that clicked the thumbs up icon).

    Not sure if any of you actually are getting the game, but just wanted to say theres an update coming out where you can set the hay bales on fire, and two more mods so you can change your horse colours ^_^

    I take game and update requests so let me know if theres anything you’d like to see in the store or as an update. If there is enough interest i was planning on making a huge multiplayer (tested with 15 players so far, but i reckon it can do a lot more!)

    @Aceterix Yes sure :) Please be aware I’m just one guy in a room, no company or squad of staff haha.
    I have far better stuff coming, just thought this one would be a good first to see the Vita/PSM process ^_^
    “Hill Cliff Horse is a free roam horse simulator with added physics.
    Explore, eat, drink, run, jump or walk your way around cliffs and hills.
    Push bales of hay around the hills, climb up cliffs, or jump off towers and rocks.
    The more you feed your horse the stronger its jumping and pushing abilities!
    Complete the quests to unlock mods for your game!
    Mods like, lava water, rubber horse mask, low gravity, unicorn horn, slow motion, snow map, grey and black horse skins and more !”

    Very impressive Stephen, I looked the blurb thoroughly intrigued now. I foun a few screen grabs online, looks like a sterling effort for one man. Can we have a teaser for what other projects we’ll see one day?

    hitman_stephen 10 July, 2014 @ 5:30 pm

    @Aceterix Thank you ^_^
    I have some multiplayer games already out on other platforms, that I’ve already got working (and i play them on the vita) but I’m just making them a bit more polished before releasing, the vitas analogue sticks totally destroy on screen controls..
    Ones a dinosaur multiplayer, the others an underwater crafting multiplayer :)
    All can be seen on my website flamefalcon.co.uk
    I have a graphics option in most of my games to cover low end devices to high, and i can happily say the vita can have it high, lights, shadows, effects everything so it looks gorgeous ^_^ especially the underwater game. (Ocean Craft Multiplayer) and (Raptors Online)

Quite simply I want it in the way Like id been gifted the physical verison right (new, unopened) from that country/region that it originated. putting Digital and Physical on equal fotting.

I do mean gifts would have to be purchased as gift to (new item not used).
As for why as gift and not just let us buy from other regions, that is the same reason you can get a physical (new) copy as gift, digital should follow the SAME rules, as its technicaaally the same item, just whitout the disk.
And as its purchased in the “rigth” region as a gift to the “wrong” region it will be taxed, etc in original place of purchase, and where the original rights belong and reciver would recive the item purchased as a gift.

    SuperJag86 9 July, 2014 @ 3:24 pm

    I can’t believe that Square Enix still haven’t put a Vita compatible digital version FF Crisis Core onto the PSN store.
    It seems like a no brainer and while there might be some QA and hosting costs, there’s such a demand that these would be insignificant I think.
    Don’t they want our money?!

    I think you’ve told multiple times on here (apologies if it isn’t you) that Final Fantasy Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep won’t be available for digital release due to music licensing issues. It might not be the answer you want, but it answers the question you keep asking

    @SuperJag86 No problem, my reply was more directed at Shadowdragoon. I’m not sure whether it’s them or another person but someone continually keeps asking this question almost every week despite it always having the same answer.

    And for the record I’d buy both FF Crisis Core and Birth By Sleep if they came to the VITA…gotta hate licensing issues

    den_rick 11 July, 2014 @ 7:22 am

    The lack of Crisis Core is due to only one music….. the last one in the end of the game. They can just get rid of it and give us that game. Easy to do…right Square Enix?

Release Freedom Wars as a physical game in Europe or no buy! Stop trying to put us down Sony. No Physical no buy.

    SuperJag86 9 July, 2014 @ 3:21 pm

    They’re not trying to put us down. They’re bringing the game to Europe aren’t they??
    I understand the issue with the memory cards but I’m just glad we get to play the game here and don’t have to wait too long to play it.

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 3:47 pm

    @SuperJag86 They are trying to bury the last post about Freedom Wars when people got mad about it being digital only. Yes they are bringing the game to Europe. But people should have the option between a physical copy and a digital copy. Releasing this game as a digital only game in Europe is stupid and does not make any sense.

    A lot of people will skip this game if SCEE wont release a physical copy of the game.

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 3:48 pm

    It’s like releasing Uncharted 4 digitally only for PS4.

    frimo_online 9 July, 2014 @ 4:47 pm

    “It’s like releasing Uncharted 4 digitally only for PS4.”

    This is all of the wrong. I see the point you’re trying to make, but no. It’s maybe comparable to only releasing Final Fantasy Type 0 on PS4 and not Vita.

    If people are interest in Uncharted 4, they’ll buy regardless. It’s an established IP with a lot of love behind it.

    SuperJag86 9 July, 2014 @ 4:50 pm

    Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t there a lot of great games that are digital only on PSN?
    I really don’t understand why people are so mad.
    I myself would have bought Freedom Wars at retail if I had the choice but I don’t so I’m happy to buy it digitally or import it.
    Just as a example I recently bought Borderlands 2 and the Ratchet collection on cart (which actually cost me more than if I bought them from PSN) but if they were digital only I would have still bought them.
    In my mind it’s a case of being happy we’re getting the game rather than looking at the negatives.

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 4:55 pm

    @SuperJag86, if import was an option, I would shut the heck up already and import the game. But Freedom Wars has an online pass (it has been proved with the Japanese copy) so what are the chances that the US Version might come with an online pass too? Probably 90%. So yeah, it’s not that much import friendly.

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 4:58 pm

    @SuperJag86 Also I refuse to buy big games digitally. I only buy indie games and so on through PS Store. I will never buy a big game digitally. I like to own my games.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 5:24 pm

    @frimo_online
    Nope nope we are intrested in Freedom Wars that’s why we are saying that we will boycott digital release (and we will do it).

    Digital release is not the product we want to buy it, we want to buy game not rent it from their site.

    ThugETH 9 July, 2014 @ 8:02 pm

    It’s called choice parity. If the game was to be digital only, in JPN, NA and EU, then sure, np, I’ll buy it. But when it’s just digital in EU then no, FU, I won’t buy it.
    Why should we accept less than other regions when we are a larger market?
    It makes no sense and I won’t be buying it full stop. Can’t even import due to dumb Online Passes and DLC. Shame as the game is still No.1 across all platforms in Japan.
    I like to own stuff that I pay a lot of hard earned cash for.

    Nazar_Ops 10 July, 2014 @ 11:23 am

    @ThugETH Exactly. If US gets a retail release, then so should EU. I don’t see the logic in releasing it digitally only in Europe. Also it seems like Sony doesn’t have enough faith in the game. Because if they did, then they would release a physical copy of the game in Europe.

matdub69 9 July, 2014 @ 3:08 pm   32

You fail to mention that after over a year (i think?…Maybe two?) a new psp mini has hit the store. Ironically enough it is actually competitively priced with games on iphone/android nowadays. Brought in as a response to the small mobile games made popular by apple the minis were overpriced compared to their 99 cent counterparts. But now that the appstore charts are littered with three dollar games this mini at $4.55 (aussie prices) doesn’t seem so overpriced. More minis! More minis!

    zalwelgoedgaan 9 July, 2014 @ 3:13 pm

    TiggsPanther 9 July, 2014 @ 4:10 pm

    If a production run is a minimum of 1000 units then they would be mad not to. If the production minimum is 2000, this would be madness to release.

    Archacus 9 July, 2014 @ 4:33 pm

    @TiggsPanther
    Why are you implying that only 1000 people will buy it?

    There is for example petition asking to not execute woman for being Christian… you can say that it has only 1 million signatures… does it mean that everyone else want her to die? No for god sake! In petitions take part only small % of population.

    SuperJag86 9 July, 2014 @ 4:53 pm

    Why is it them pointing the middle finger at customers??
    This is my problem with the position some people are taking.
    Sony made a decision (for whatever reason) to release it digitally only in EU. If you’re not happy with that, fine try to convince them with a petition but to resort to comments like that seems petty.

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 5:02 pm

    @SuperJag86 if it wasn’t for the comments bashing Sony on the blog, then I don’t think they would’ve ever listened to us. Also they would be unaware, because they don’t look for petitions on the internet, unless we show it to them.

Lcslick 9 July, 2014 @ 3:14 pm   38

Thought I would let people know not to let your ps plus subscription lapse at any point otherwise there is a chance you could lose some of your ps plus games after renewing. Happened to me with sleeping dogs, the game is still downloaded on my ps3 but when try to play it, it says it’s expired even though I am signed up to ps+. Its not in my download list but is in my transaction history, so I rang up playstation support and told them, but the guy said with some specific games if you allow your subscription to lapse (with me less than a month) you can’t get access to them once you renew and that the idea is you don’t let your subscription lapse at any point and that their was nothing they could do. Since this is not listed in the ps plus FAQ’s I thought I would make ppl aware.

    Magoo_222 9 July, 2014 @ 6:15 pm

    There’s also the problem I’ve got, which is that every single one of my PS+ games when sorted by date is now done by the renewal date and not the original date. The same is true of my download list, which is now even less useful than it was before. It only lapsed by one day when auto-renewal tried and failed to take the funds, so I bought a code online!

Two weeks ago I mentioned that I got overcharged for JURASSIC PARK in PSN and would just like to thank @jawad for the advice I got as my account was credited this week. If this has happens to anyone else not getting plus discounts on sale games get in touch with customer service and see if they can help you. Also can’t wait to play the wolf among us :)

Noraneko_Vel 9 July, 2014 @ 3:20 pm   40

I bought “Fate/Extra”, “Malicious Rebirth” and “Trails in the Sky” during the Big In Japan sale last week, but didn’t get the PS+ extra discounts, despite being a paying PS+ member.

Will I get the money back automatically, or do I have to contact someone to get it?

    tat_sun 9 July, 2014 @ 3:31 pm

    You’ll have to contact Customer Services

    Jawad Ashraf 9 July, 2014 @ 3:39 pm

    Please contact consumer services who will assist you.

    DJROE95 9 July, 2014 @ 3:48 pm

    Same happened to me and I rang customer services and got credit put on my account – might take a while to get through but it’s worth it. Good luck :D

One PS4 game? And it’s a cross-gen game too? Understand why 90% of the people I talk to say they’re not upgrading until Xmas 2015.

    zalwelgoedgaan 9 July, 2014 @ 3:38 pm

    Personally I’m waiting until the second edition of PS4 is released with at least 1TB hard drive, then I can immediately buy a lot of cheap games to keep me busy for a while.

    Roger-Neylan 9 July, 2014 @ 3:50 pm

    The PS4 is great if, like myself, you prefer independently made games over the larger releases. Still, even though I’m happy with it, Sony should not sold the machine as though it would have an abundance of graphically improved AAA titles so soon after release.

    zalwelgoedgaan 9 July, 2014 @ 3:57 pm

    @Roger: Yeah, but I still have a ton of PS+ games on my PS3 and I don’t feel like tucking it away before I played them to make room for the PS4. I already have a Wii U here as well, my desk can’t take much more. ^_^;

    monoliet 10 July, 2014 @ 5:26 pm

    gone be a expensife xmas2015 to them
    i buy console when not many games come out so i can put mony in to mi piggy so wen them come out i do not need to choose between lots of games .

    point hd size zalwelgoedgaan = i already have 1tb inside = works great
    buth i do not understend why sony not put standart one day 1 instead of 500 gb

There’s no English/Dutch version of Lego Batman 2 on the Belgian store, there’s only the French version. Please fix this.

madmanwithabox12 9 July, 2014 @ 3:50 pm   46

The lack of Vita love continues. No Vita deal of the week? Really?

rafaelmendes23 9 July, 2014 @ 3:53 pm   47

Any change of Wolf among us’ season pass being in sale in the next few weeks?

Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 4:06 pm   48

Even if there’s some kind of issues bringing Freedom Wars physically to Europe, they could’ve at least explained it, rather than ignoring us. The Sony support is really good…

Sneachta 9 July, 2014 @ 4:07 pm   49

Space Invaders Extreme PSP/Vita ever coming out of hiding ??

    Nazar_Ops 9 July, 2014 @ 4:11 pm

    Lmao. the thing about that game is that it got exploited by some hackers so the game will allow you to run homebrews and emulators through the exploit. That’s why Sony removed the game

    matdub69 9 July, 2014 @ 7:03 pm

    “Hey you guys remember that game we removed because of hacker exploit. Lets put it on sale”

    “Brilliant lets do it!”

    Week after week we see that a multi billion dollar corporation cannot maintain an online store in a manner that benefits such an entity. It is not always bad though. I picked up ratchet and clank trilogy for the Vita at half price due it being that the PS3 version was on sale. Similar story will God of War for Vita. There have been a couple of free games as well but I forgot because they were forgettable. i also picked up Jax and Daxter free of charge (shame it was a rip off at that price). More recently i scored all dlc for Child of light free of charge. My advice check the store as soon as it updates

Just want to let you guys at SCEE know that shin megami tensei: digital devil saga 1 and 2 still unavailable in the Dutch psn store even though it should be available according to the psn store update from last week and 2 weeks ago.

Just looked it up on my ps3 and also used the web browser store, but nowhere to be found on both stores.
