Well done again Sony. Can you not localise the work more. Yet again the PSN is offline at peak gaming time for Europe. I realise that the update comes from Japan but surely the EU makes up for a higher percentage of users. Sort it out Sony.

Whats it down for sure this is twice in same month !!

Preparing for GT5. :P

What’s with all the maintenance lately, it’s getting annoying, especially since it’s in our peak-time.

@1 – PSN in not offline… just the Store is :/ Not a big issue for me :)

New service incoming: http://www.qriocity.com/gb/en/

I have a job. It’s an issue for me! It’s nothing to do with GT5. Or it best not be. They delayed the game and could have done this work last time. The problem is them USB work arounds. This will be a weekly thing soon.

Hey James.

Can you suggest to the powers that be to give us more warning regarding these maintenance periods?

Something like a week should do it. Can’t be that hard, surely?

But that is Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood multiplayer madness-time :-(
I better sign in early then.

Maybe SONY can better work on a browser update so i can use FACEBOOK,YOUTUBE,SINGSTAR.COM etc!!!!!!

So if I sign in before 16:05 then log out a couple of hours later, will I be able to log back in?

It would be nice to know what all this downtime is about. For years the PSN would be up every day, all day. Suddenly now, it’s down quite a bit.

People wouldn’t be so annoyed if they knew what was going on.

This is actually getting a bit pathetic now. How many times has it been in maintainance over the past for weeks/months.

Why?

Has to many PSN maintenance recently?

15

i take it this is going to be the norm for psn now to go offline twice a month for 8 to 10 hrs at a time because of hackers siiiiigh

Do it in the morning from 8 am to 4 pm. Why do it at peak times? That’s really illogical and a stupid idea.

sort out the trophy syncing please :)

wauw another Maintenance we been getting those a lot i assume
it’s in europe only seems even in U.S they maintain their servers better.

AGAIN!!!?? …. Sony your starting to take the p***. As previous multiple posts have stated it’s time to localize these update. Please stop ruining peak online gaming for everyone from Europe to Russia, Africa to the middle East. That’s awful lot of people your annoying! R u trying to push them over to the (Microsoft) darkside?

thanks for the notice!

This is beyond a joke now. Why not ruin the yanks’ time for once?
Or simply start earlier. I do not see the logic in doing it at peak times. Either do it at 1am-10am or don’t bother.

22

@Ti_dus

Wrong! PSN will be off. However, if you are logged in before it goes off you can play online.

awww hear the people cry again

sony would not do a maintainance for no reason

no matter at what time they do this people still complain that they cant play.

is it so hard for not play one day? do you guys really have nothing else to do in your life?

otherwise let your mom dad brother sister uncle grandma girlfriend start up your ps3 before 4 a clock problem solved.

mabey they add something for you guys mabey they gonna add a jailbreak patch i dont know its for you guys!

grow up and dont complain for 1 day not beeing online

jeez

“PlayStation Network is offline for scheduled maintenance from 16:05 on Thursday 18 November 2010 until 01:00 on Friday 19 November 2010, GMT.”

Ok, and howcome I can’t sign in already for two hours? Today is the 17th right?

For F*** sake men, get your act together over there….

everyone moaning about not being able to play video games online for a couple of hours on ONE day.

grow up. do you want the sony heads to run by all their proposed maintanence dates past you, allowing you to vito them first? grow up, stop moaning at sony on every single post

(the only moaning i agreed with and joined on was the GT5 moaning as that was beyond a joke. all other things i think are just pointless to moan about)

Got to agree with killzone here why moan so much it’s for our benefit after all.

@EVERYONE ABOVE…

Read the post – only the store, account management and website login will be unavailable – as long as you have logged in at some point tomorrow you will be able to log in and out during the down period and play online.

You just need to login at some point tomorrow to renew your PSN network “key” on your PS3/PSP.

But, PlayStation Home is still accessible, right?

@To all people moaning about people moaning

If it was on a rota where Europeans got shafted then Japanese then Americans – then I would be happy but its always Europeans.

Share the love and the pain.

Wow take up a whole night, why not.

Maybe SONY can better work on a browser update so i can use FACEBOOK,YOUTUBE,SINGSTAR.COM etc!!!!!!

It would be nice that i can finally use my PS3 for Facebook etc and don’t need to start my laptop!

Why shouldn’t I complain? I now pay an annual fee. The service is not up to standard. I pay for the right to complain. The fact is NO amount of patching will keep out the hackers. No doubt this “Maintenence” IS connected to GT5 but Sony don’t have the balls to admit it. As for logging in beforehand, my family is a rare thing called a working family. My evening are my social time. My kids go to bed and I don’t go out and get trashed. I game. I pay to play. Simple. Sony stop pandering to Japan. They are the reason for no cross game chat and the reason for these stupid downtimes.

33

Thanks for notice James :P

Does anyone know if you can log into a US account with a EU console while the EU network is down?

I have a friend over tomorrow and we were really excited about playing some black ops split screen.. but it seems you need to have a connection to psn to play combat training.

Please help me out or point me in the right direction. Thanks

35

awfull timing. one of this years biggest games comes out tomorrow and PSN is down…

are you working on something, or can we expect maintenence as often as it has been lately. would rly like to know, so i can buy my multiplatform games for 360 instead of ps3

Gotta say guys, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was to do with the first first (just tested and certified) patch for the issues with Call of Duty:Black Ops. It’s been the biggest earache for not just Treyarch but SONY aswell for the last week, so If like me you wanna be able to play the game as intended…… WAIT TILL WE GO LIVE AGAIN ON FRIDAY and then [DELETED] if it aint fixed :-)

Seems to me some people can’t read.

PSN is not down, there is maintenance on certain areas. Online play is still available.

As for those saying “I now pay an annual fee” – so what? You are not paying for use of the network, you are paying for extra/bonus content. Get over yourselves.

@ Paranomia I can’t log on till after 7. What do I do? You can’t read it seems.

@Paranoimia

“If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:05 on Thursday 18 November 2010.”

What of that don’t YOU understand?

Hi James,
Any word on what the maintenance is for? Just general maintenance or are there going to be some upgrades? (browser!)

I’m usually at work when the maintenance happens so no biggy for me :)

@taurus82 unfortunately the maintenance will effect home like the last time PSN was down Sony‘s Cash-cow Need a rest Too you know.

it only Store, management, register will be down, there are servers that actually not own by sony other companys are.

i‘m alright i got a PSP. ;)

just been looking on SCEA-blog no word of maintenance over they so it‘s a local maintenance.

I smell qurocity then a cloud-base digital music service Incomming like someone said, that site is Not Ps3 browser it told me to use a PC dam cheek :o

Seconds #1 and #8

And #40 (browser update? :-D pleeeease motoGP/Eurosport support).

But I’m happy I’ve always got at least one single player game lying around.
And there is always the big outside real world to explore :-P.

Doesn’t bother me. I have a social life… until GT5 is released. :D

OMG if you care soo much about the stores you care about PlayStation Network maintenance, for sure we are the n.º 1 network serviçes…
Now serious why you do so many maintenance my god every week we lose a day for this… Be more profissional…

Does anyone know if you can log into a US account with a EU console while the EU network is down?

Yes you can have a usa-account or jap account on youe EU-ps3 but i can’t & won‘t tell you how.

so getting a Imports to our EU-Store And US-Store is a win win for sony & devs ;)

New service incoming: http://www.qriocity.com/gb/en/

Well if this is a new service coming to the store.. it yet again is a service not available in my country.. the shafting is about to start yet again..

And just as we know SCEE is keeping its lips sealed never revealing a single thing..

it‘s a pity we not getting that video on demand that be cool on a Ps3 in HD then the Poor MUBI & LF but the list not got the Ps3. :(

it look like SCEE can sign up half-barked deals then SCEA can sign up to a HD-movies streaming with No problem at all.

so sad :‘(

Thanks Skookie but that wasn’t what I asked.. I already have multiple accounts for every region.

What I need to know is whether or not I’ll be able to gain access to the US network while EU is offline?
