Howdy all, another week, another dollop of content for you all
I know it’s a tough act to follow last week’s offering, but I think we’ve done a good job of carrying on the momentum – but I leave it to you to see what you think.
Heavy Weapon joins the PSN game list on the store, we have three demos for you this week, starting with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, then a slice of Lost Planet 2 (with those extra bits to play for us PS3 owners) and if you didn’t check out The Punisher: No Mercy when it was released a while back, we also have a demo for that title now available too.
The standout bit of content this week for me (and that’s because I am a self-confessed fanboy) is the Broken Steel pack for Fallout 3, but we also have more challenges for Batman: Arkham Asylum, and extra content for UFC Unleashed 2009, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, Madden NFL 10, Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Speaking of Guitar Hero we also have some special offers on a selection of tracks for this week only, and there are more details on this in the content list below.
For our PSP users you can test your rallying skills with Colin McRae DiRT 2, play with your food in Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs as well as get additional content for Prinny, and Rock Band Unplugged.
Not too shabby this week eh? As usual, leave your thoughts in the comments section and I’ll do my best to respond to as many as possible.
Special Offers
As detailed last week, PixelJunk Racers, High Velocity Bowling, Super Stardust HD Double Pack, Echochrome Micro and Disney’s Action Game feat. Hercules are still on special offer this week, however, we also have the below Guitar Hero Tracks available for one week only starting today:

fallout 3 in holland is english. the code for the game is BLES-00333
just one look at a game in a gamestore in holland wouldve told u that.
its really easy to check that, and still there is no dlc.
so we have a game that is only playable in english. it has the right code with BLES-00333. than why the hell isnt the dlc released?
pure laziness if u ask me, or else gross neglect.
either way there is no, NO!, excuse for the absence of the dlc on the psn store in holland.
cant speak for other countries but the reason u state here mike is just bull.
Posted on 29 September, 2009 at 9:36 am by Mike Kebby
The reason I state is not ‘bull’, it’s just the facts behind why the DLC is not currently on some of the stores. One I know when it’s coming for the other stores I’ll let you all know.

Broekn Steel is advertised on the “What’s New” page in the netherlands, but it’s not in the store. All we get is an error code. How could you do this to me?!?

Hope you’re ok after your sickness, Mike. We know the content is only out for the english version of the game. Hence, our question is, when will it be released for the rest of the territories?
Posted on 29 September, 2009 at 9:34 am by Mike Kebby
I’ll try and find a date for you glue.

The real question is: the DLCs are going to be released in the rest of Europe? Or Bethesda is enough bastard to make us buy the GOTY edition to make more money?

hi mike it would be really cool if u guys could add PS1 classics like Rival Schools and Evil Zone. Plus will past and future games have live real time dynamic themes like the Little Big Planet one instead of the video looped ones of Wipeout and Motorstorm. it would be really cool if u guys gt bk 2 me.

Mike
Can I volunteer to translate the description on the Fallout 3 DLC as it is probably the only thing (in my humble opinion) that’s delaying the release on the portuguese playstation store?
I mean, we have the same version as the uk, with the same code and all, certainly the only delay is due to the translation?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

an error on your part? A big #*^$@ mistake if you ask me! are there any worries about post-costumer behaviour? I’d paid big money for my ps3. We’re not a bunch of children who are waiting for a candy at the local candy shop. We are paying costumers, and if we are told that something is coming out, it should be out on the promised date! Sony is a massive company, plug in those wires guy’s! thats everything! Love my ps3!

Delayed because of a translation to our language? That’s no excuse… we read english like everyone else around here. And I’ve noticed that some content on our store, sometimes, it’s in german! I’m not joking, just go snoop around a bit in every item available for purchase/download and you’ll find out.

Your best shot at getting the Broken Steel DLC, if you own a BLES-00333 version of the game, is wait til october first, and hook up to Ebay for The english currency cards that are released on october first. Make a UK account, redeem your currency card code, and download it through the english store.
I gave up on waiting for the sony DLC, and just got the DLC for my 360.

so no response to fallout dlc pricing eh?
and yes i [DELETED] and moan a lot, but really….sony is screwing with us.
when u release content in europe release it for all at the same time and not one country here or one country there. and that be all i’ll say about it.
i never thought sony could display such amateurism with their services.
sad indeed.

William89. To be honest, on Bethesda’s site it claims that the DLC would be released in English territories. So to be honest, we were notified that it might not arrive. The DLC wont be released on PSN for European customers, except some. But the GOTY edition will show up with all DLC Included. And don’t complain about the price. Buying all the DLC from the store will cost as much as the GOTY coming out. The save games will also work for your current F3 Savegames. So just be patient and wait for them all to be released at once, trust me its worth the wait, since you can move right onto the new DLC chapter after you finished one. and its definitely worth it.
I started with Mothership zeta, and then Anchorage, the items i obtained from Zeta and Anchorage came in really handy with the Pitt since it needs allot of Stealth. And broken steel is definitely a DLC you should play as last, since its one of the most satisfying DLC’s from the rest. Point Lookout wasn’t that great though, i the weapons are awesome, but the world gets kind of annoying.
Anyways, just be patient, and wait! Its really worth it.

Eboc, friend, i think you’re forguetting about the many peoplo who bought the game on day one and have the right to play a dlc already late comparing to 360 users. It’s absolutely ridicuous have to spend again money on a game that i already had!
These things doesn´t happen on the xbox live, the products are availble to all people of all countries of which continent on the release day. Bethesda is treating almost every country in Europe like garbage and in my opinion Sony has its responsibilities too, because they don’t defend the superior interests of the playstation brand at all. This generation of game consoles with all this dlc business is a step backwards on the rights of players that bought a game and should have the posiblity to experience all that the game has to offer.

Anyhow, there’s only one conclusion possible;
Sony, Bethesda:
Bad.
Customer.
Service.
Period
I should have saved 200 EUR and buy me an xbox with mass effect.
-I’m actually from Belgium but i created this account in an attempt to download the dlc, well that did not work-

Posted on 29 September, 2009 at 7:46 pm by Kazemaru-san
Yeah, I pretty much figured that out too so I didn’t create an UK account even tho some of my family live there and could actually put in some £ for me to get the DLC. However, I just want DLC content available in my country as well as in all other EU countries. We deserve equal treatment, period.

Guys, I can wait until whatever comes out whenever, that’s not the point. The point is that it was officially announced that the fallout 3 DLC was being released on the 24th in Europe and that it wasn’t mention that it was only a selective release. The problem is the poor management of the situation. A lot of dedicated players are feeling badly treated and they now have a lot of ill feeling towards Sony.
Although I do also have a 360, I prefer my PS3. That’s why I bought Fallout 3 for it and not the Xbox. The question I’m now facing is… When the next big game comes along, would I buy it for the PS3 again knowing that situations like the Fallout 3 mess (and previously the GTA IV situation) could happen again? I’m thinking that the time has come to religate the PS3 to being an expensive karaoke machine.

To Mike Kebby
Ok here you have it: the full portuguese translation of the description from DLC item “Fallout 3 Broken Steel”:

Now all that’s left to do is change the description (obviously). change the currency (to €9,99) and change redirect the “What’s new” link to the exact same content that’s on the UK playstation store.
By the way this translation was all made by me without any automatic translator and you have my full permission/authorization to use it in the store. Now do it please!

It was always the intention for English territory releases first, I appreciate that you’re frustrated with what you perceive to be a delay, but we haven’t delayed the content, it’s just scheduled for a different release date.

Mike, it’s really admirable how you’re spending time answering quite a few of our questions. cheers for that, buddy.
Now, regarding this:
“It was always the intention for English territory releases first, I appreciate that you’re frustrated with what you perceive to be a delay, but we haven’t delayed the content, it’s just scheduled for a different release date.”
I think that’s a common issue which seems to frustrate quite a few people who’re not living in the UK. When you’re posting “heads-up” on the European blog, wouldn’t it then be a good idea to mention when certain titles will only be available in the UK for example? Many a time I’ve seen games advertised as released (like this week’s “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” for the PSP), only to discover that it isn’t available at all. This occurs week after week. Quite frustrating to say the least. Why not make it more transparent as to where games are released to if not everywhere?
Thanks for listening. : )

“I have thought about this for a while, let me see…”
Are you being sarcastic or sincere? Sorry if it’s been mentioned before and I missed one of the posts. Care to expand?

Sincere, there are obvious reasons why I should do this, but there are also reasons why I wouldn’t want to. I’m trying to weigh up the pros and cons.

Hmmm, I have BCAS-20061 version that I bought in Hong Kong while visiting my g/f but I am now back in Australia (considered an EU territory because of PAL). Sooooo, I want to give you money for your games but you won’t let me download the content . . .
Pop quiz: Why do people pirate games? Seriously, game companies make legitimate users jump through more hoops than the people who bypass paying altogether. Smart moves.
Guess I won’t bother with any Bethesda dlc at all until they sort it out.

Hello PSS guys,
Could you fix some localisation mistakes, please ?
As reported by Belgian NomadicWulf (#416), it seems there is at least a mix between french and dutch.
French Demo* should be Démo (instead of Dèmo)
French Free* should be Gratuit (instead of Gratis)
French (Complete Game) should be (jeu complet) (instead of (Gioco completo) for Puzzle quest: Revenge of the plague lord)
Ducth Free should be Gratis (instead of Gratuit)

Hi.
I’m sorry for this being my first post… But living in Portugal and watching the whole Broken Steel DLC debacle makes me regret a lot my option to buy a PS3 instead of an XBOX. I’m sorry but this is terrible customer service.
Thanks.

Posted on 30 September, 2009 at 4:56 pm by swiftswig
Thanks for your reply, Mike. I appreciate where you’re coming from (no pun intended heh).
It would be great if we had the opportunity to choose a ‘language region’ (English, German, Italian etc. regardless of our current location) instead of getting games only for the country in which we reside). In this time and age it’s quite common for citizens to move across borders and work and live in other countries for a short or longer period of time. As in my example, I ended up in Finland so I created a Finnish account when I purchased my first PSP. Little did I know it would prevent me from playing games “only meant for English speaking countries”. E.g., “Buzz!: Master Quiz” (which is among one of the seventeen games in SCEE’s UMD/PSP Go goodwill program — for UK residents only I guess) has never been released to the Scandinavia market even though a lot of us probably wouldn’t mind if it was available in English only. Why not create a ‘language region’ option and get rid off some of these issues once and for all? Why not let customers decide which language is suitable for them?

After all this time no Broken Steel DLC available yet…
This is incredible… I don´t know why we have this PlayStation Store if we find so many times that the titles are not available! How long must we wait for proper content over PSStore?
And I never expected all this discrimination towards PS3 users in relation with the Fallout DLC! I guess they will make us buy the GOTY edition and two times the same game! Shamefull! I wish i decided to buy a XBOX instead of the PS3.
This is hard times indeed, but someone has to make money…
I feel so frustrated that i wish i never knew or played Fallout!
Sincerely
A very disappointed Client
