Announced last week, the Killzone Trilogy box set combines Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 with a high-definition PS3 remaster of the original Killzone. Today we take a closer look at Killzone HD, and the challenging new trophy set that comes with it.
Originally released for Killzone tells the story of Jan Templar, an ISA Captain whose home planet comes under attack from an invading Helghast army. Together with a hot-headed sergeant named Rico, a deadly Shadow Marshal known as Luger and the half-human, half-Helghast spy Hakha, Templar must attempt to reactivate the Orbital Defense Platform and drive the invading forces from his planet Vekta.
Now, this rip-roaring introduction to the Killzone universe has been remastered in HD for inclusion with the Killzone Trilogy bundle. Featuring a single player campaign with four playable characters and an offline multiplayer mode against AI opponents, Killzone HD has received a thorough audiovisual overhaul: the game boasts 720p graphics at a steady 30fps, with MSAA filtering, sharper textures and higher quality sound effects. But don’t just take our word for it – check out these crisp HD screenshots:
In addition to these improvements, Killzone HD has also been enhanced with a full set of trophies. The trophy list is detailed below (beware of spoilers if you’ve never played the original Killzone):

I have a question about the trophy “Two’s Company Win a battlefields game with another player in split screen”, does that mean that we will be able to play online against bots or it has to be someone playing in our console?
Posted on 13 September, 2012 at 3:16 pm by Victor Zuylen
It means playing offline against bots along with a friend, in split-screen view.

Thanks for listing these, quite a few specific kill trophies there.
I can’t wait to get the game, the screenshots look really good although KZ was a very good looking PS2 game to start with.

A Scavenger trophy? Any relation to Joris de Man? (it was his old nick on the Atari)

It’s kind of a coincidence to be honest, but I won’t tell Joris if you don’t.

Count me in. Haven’t played the original in a long, long time, but still have some fond memories. As someone who is generally not a fan of first-person shooters, the Killzone series has continued to impress me – particularly the third. Looking forward to replaying this in HD. You have my money. Good luck.

Best consoleshooter back in those days. Will enjoy playing this again, and hopefully those Rico haters will finally come to accept him after playing this one :p

COOL:P I can’t wait;) So ‘KZ1 HD’ won’t be on a single Blu-ray disc to buy on its own then? (you can only buy it on its own as a PSN downloadable game?)

I love the original Killzone! It would be great if you guys could release it on Blu-ray Disc separately outside the trilogy boxset!

A platinum yes!
This will be my 4th Killzone platinum when I get it.
Are you guys going to do any competitions to receive a download code?

14,99 Euro sounds really fair. NEVER PLAYED the First one. Loved the second and third, except the Ending of the third.
Hope there is a little Discount for Plus Members

Thanks for posting, Victor!
I know it’s a big ask, but will Guerilla Games be releasing any information soon regarding Killzone 4? There is still a massive amount of closure needed for the series after the ending of Killzone 3. As you know already, a lot of the fans on killzone.com have been hoping to see something more of the Helghast side of the story. The planet Helghan still has so many more secrets to divulge!

Yay!, i never got to play Killzone 1 since it wasn’t on PS3(i missed it when it originally came out), so i’ll probably get the Killzone Trilogy since it has all of the DLC for KZ 2 and 3 as well.

omg..
Finally, i get another chance, i got this around 07/8.. and it really blew me away, unfortunately i started at hard diff, and didn’t get to finish, in fact i have no idea exactly where i got to… i remember blowing up/disabling rail guns, then sometime after this i had to drop down a hatch into a room, some ‘mega solder’ (or two.?.) greeted me, and duly wasted me.. over and over and, .. well, you get the idea.. i mean for days though, well, the few hours a day i could game… eventually i just stopped loading the disc.. Have Allways wanted to revisit that particular scene, And rest of the following game, So a definate buy for me, (picture Kratos, i guess), This time though, even though i could get a online guide, i think i will begin on normal… lol. Please i Hope no-one posts saying i was only still at beginning/that part IS easy etc..
btw, Lot of trophies there, allways a good bonus.

@ Chrisy21
Erm…both the original God Of War Collection, and the prequel God of War Collection (the remastered PSP titles) have been out for nearly two years my friend.
You can buy them at retail or via PSN if you wish to support Sony’s outrageous digital pricing structure.

@ Scuffy_P
No m8, i think chrisy21 is asking about the, (can’t think of name) full collection, it’s got all 5 games in one box, But, it is a con, i actually bought a US vers last week, £35 (new) from a Grainger games, shop. They allways seem to have US games, red sleeve at top, on case etc.. Anyway i thought Bargain, until i looked inside the case, the GoW1+2 on disc1 and GoW3 on disc2, But the origins games are just a digital download. which has to be done via US ac, Shame as if it were all discs i would of kept it, oh, another little bonus thats on US vers, 1 months free plus, But was worthless when i read the t+cs, needed to register a c-card to claim, Then IF you didn’t cancel manually they’d charge you for another 3or12 months.. i know it’s easy getting US ac, for digital games, But can’t get US cc, i Still thought about keeping it, but tbh i haven’t got enough hdd space left.. they give me refund etc, but am sure i could of sold/traded it for same or bit more.

Just want to remention something for our store team, did you see above ?.. £35 for All Five GoWs, New, when are you lot going to start pricing digital games in the Real world ?.
Guess it’s a old blog so not expectin much/Any response.. Though i wonder, IS anyone even there, i mean i counted about 3 (THREE!) replies Since, well yesterday/start of week/work. And they wasn’t worth reading, imo.
