Hello everyone. I know that you’ve all been eagerly anticipating news of the PlayStation Vita Plus service so I am very happy to say that I can finally spill the beans.
We here at Sony PlayStation are very happy to announce that as of 21st November, the Plus service will be extended to the PS Vita. I can also confirm that if you already have a Plus subscription for your PlayStation 3 there is no additional charge whatsoever for the PS Vita service, meaning that you still get all the great PS3 content as well as the additional Vita offers, all for the same one-off price of £39.99 a year.
I am also happy to announce that to compliment the 1GB of online storage you currently receive for the PS3, we will be supplying another 1GB of online storage space for the PS Vita, along with the automatic update facility as standard. As part of the launch of this service the next PS Vita System Software Update (v2.00) will be available to ensure that your operating system is fully up to date with all the latest security patches as well as updated applications, features and settings.
Now, moving on to the important aspect and what you are all here for – the games line up…
At launch there will be four Vita titles available to you instantly. Please note that this is not going to impact the amount of PS3 games available at all – you will still receive the same amount of games as before. However, with the great Vita titles we’re adding to your Instant Game Collection, at any one time you will always have access to a minimum of 14 games a month across both platforms. Not bad, eh?
As with the PS3 service, we will have titles that will be available to you for a longer period of time than usual so you have the chance to play them when and where you feel like, without worrying about them leaving the service anytime soon. For the PS Vita, these two titles will be Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss is Nathan Drake’s first adventure on the Vita platform, and follows our hero as he investigates the dark secrets of a massacre of a Spanish expedition to Central America around 400 years ago.
The game is visually stunning and the touch screen display lends itself to a whole new depth of gameplay, making it one of the most exciting Uncharted adventures yet! A must for any Vita owner!
The second title that will be available to you for a prolonged period of time is brought to you by our friends in Japan Studio in the form of Gravity Rush.
You take on the role of Kat, a young girl struggling with amnesia in the troubled city of Hekseville. She awakes with the extraordinary ability to bend and shape gravity with the help of her feline companion Dusty the cat. The townsfolk quickly place the fate of their home in Kat’s hands as she endeavours to understand why she has these new powers and who commands the sinister forces wreaking havoc across her city.
We really love this game and think that everyone should give it a go, as it really highlights the impressive features of the PS Vita.
As promised we also have two further titles launching on the service on 21st November, the first of which is Chronovolt.
Chronovolt is a brand new 3D puzzle platformer game for the PlayStation Vita family in which the player must guide their Chronosphere through the twists, turns, traps and hazards of Escher-like arenas. Chronovolts scattered around the levels give the player the power to control time in various fashions: stopping it for selected objects, rewinding it and creating time warps.
Time is controlled through use of the PS Vita’s front and back touch panels while the Chronosphere can be controlled either with tilting or with the more classic dual stick controls.
Finally the remaining title that we will have available in your instant game collection comes from our friends at Drinkbox Studios in the form of Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack. This side-scrolling platform game is extremely enjoyable to play and its humorous cut scenes make it a light-hearted journey from start to finish. Please take the time to check it out.
With all this great content lined up for launch and more to come, it couldn’t be a better time to be a Plus subscriber. If you are not currently a member visit our PlayStation Plus site or all you need to know about the service!
Oh just one more thing… as an added bonus, because we think it’s worth celebrating the launch of the service we have secured 20% off a range of PS Vita titles for the first week of the service. Remember, these are only around for one week and will go live as soon as the store update has rolled out so grab them while you can!
Titles to be included are:
- Escape Plan
- Unit 13
- Hustle Kings
- MotorStorm RC
- Super Stardust Delta and Advanced Star Fighter Pack Bundle
- Top Darts
- Little Deviants
- Modnation Racers: Road Trip
- Reality Fighters
I think that pretty much covers everything about the impending launch of the Vita Plus service which is going to be a great addition to the PlayStation family. If you have any questions please post them on here and I will try to get round to as many of them as possible.

Great news, but unfortunately we get less than the USA version… but is cool anyway, my 16gb card will love to get new content.

Good thing this has finally come, but I’m disappointed they can release this and still not a word on CSGO, it’s been months now.
As for the content, I obviously already have Golden Abyss. Gravity Rush on the other hand, was never even remotely interested in it. Not too bad though for someone buying a Vita now, price is a little cheaper (more so if you grab one second hand) and now a couple extra games to start you off. Gonna be a (CENSORED) swapping games on the memory card but I refuse to pay those extortionate prices for them (got mine in a bundle so it wasn’t as much).
Now if only SCEE could get their act together and tell us about CSGO.
@217 You did pay for it, you tool. You paid for plus therefore you paid for this content.
@222 It’s bought* not brought*, how the hell you can confuse those two words is beyond me.

That’s Great, just bought my Vita and i’m loving it so far. Got Uncharted GA and Motorstorm RC for starter. I was thinking on renewing my + subscription after the holidays, but now i’m picking it up, first thing tomorrow. I’ve just one question, is there any chance for Sony to put more accurate way to check your battery life, maybe through some FW update ? At this state, it’s a pain in the …

Bless, Voodoo needs somebody to fight his corner for him.
What I was trying to point out was that he is STILL paying the same amount of money for the SAME content he was already receiving. The Vita stuff is a bonus on top of that price.
So essentially he’s not paid anything for the Vita stuff he can’t use.

@vita owners.
just to clear my posts up some, i bought my vita on 22/2.. unchatredGA, 16GB mem, And cos it was 3g i got wipeout2048, cost around £320, and so i kind of feel i am entitled to an opinion about it. now i sold my purchase 2 months later, just to answer a above point,
and yes, i am a vita hater..
But NOT because you are getting extras, i Can see others taking this veiw so it’s a fair enough point. I was also till september a day1 plus subber, so i feel i have payed scee enough to have voiced my opinions. i stopped renewing plus because i am Not a casual gamer, i couldn’t and cannot see any future, for myself in plus, since IGC started.
All i want is for you lucky vita/plus owners to try and see it from both sides, and If you still feel this is 100% fair, then at least show some understanding to the people who are upset, or feel their getting a raw deal.
———————————————-
You come across as VERY bitter!! If you are not then why are you even here complaining about a service that has no affect on you in the slightest???
A “Vita hater” to boot!!
Have fun in Pandora (I do honestly mean that too).

@ TinTin
about the remote play and KZ3, i think you made mistake. or the tech demo you refered to is/was just a way of ps advertising what ‘could’ be possible, not what is.. before loggin out i noticed your post about my Not doing .. enough research.. so i just Had to watch the video i downloaded in January.. cross-play or similar is title.. starts with Dungeon Hunter Allience, showing someone pause ps3 vers, then continue on from vita. then it advertises wipeout, like playing mates on there ps3 vers, from your vita, it then ends with KZ3 ingame footage, on vita screen, and voiceover basically leading Me to think, i can play that from anywhere.. Is this promotional video the tech demo you spoke of ?.. if So that is so wrong/misleading, But if it isn’t then is it possible you have made mistake.. and i Did’nt get what this video ‘made out’ i would. but whichever it is, yes, at the time dropping nearly 200 wasn’t very nice, But that was Long time ago and well forgotten.. ok, Now i can go try lvl up some more, Brdelnds2.

I will now be getting a Vita.
Glorious work guys and gals – I’m pretty sure you blew all our expectations out of the water!

I don’t know why I keep checking the American blog, it always makes me feel like we are getting the short end of the stick. Because we are:
“PS Plus members will be able to download the Instant Game Collection, which includes PS Vita games Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Jet Set Radio HD, WipEout 2048, Gravity Rush and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!, as well as (PSP) PlayStation Portable hit Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions.”
Jet Set Radio HD, WipEout 2048 and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. Three games that the USA costumers get, although we pay the same as they do.
It’s so sad that, even when Sony does well, there is always something (3 things, in this case) wrong

when jet set radio comes out the following week after the US launch will the game be free on ps plus for us in europe also? sorry if this has already been asked. Great start to ps plus on vita, cant wait.
also any news on a netflix app for the vita here in europe, the US have had it for ages, so jealous!

It is a great offer indeed. But I can`t help feeling annoyed about allready having bought the games we get. I bought the VITA at release, but sony have utterly dissapointed me. I have not bought the mentioned Jet Set Radio HD, but it seems like we in EU wont get that -.-

Wow, you guys have really put a lot of effort into making this the best opneing package possible!
There`s no doubt this will affect the Vita`s sales as well, as some of the greatest games for the Vita are here. Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush are probably two of the first games any Vita-owner would buy, and if you continue such great support it will kind of compensate for the expensive memory cards to a certain degree. This is definitely just what the Vita needs right now! Excellent work!
Thanks for Gravity Rush btw! It looks amazing!

These two games are the best the vita has to offer at the moment!
Only problem whit that is: Everybody who already owns a vita has these two games…
How about appealing to us who already bought your handheld too?!?
This is the list for NA:
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
WipEout 2048
Gravity Rush
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Jet Set Radio
And the PSP title Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
So much better! Even some games to attract the ones who already bought the Vita and the two top games…
Take care of your loyal customers Sony!

Posted on 13 November, 2012 at 9:41 pm by frodouk
So much better? Not really.. 1 extra Vita game that I bet will be released in the next week or so (they have hinted at surprises after launch). 1 HD remake in the form of Jet Set Radio, that will also probably be part of + in the coming weeks, and an old PSP game, which, and lets be fair here, if it had been announced here people would have complained about – it’s a Vita, release some Vita games, not old PSP games.
So SCEE can’t do right for wrong really.
All I can say is that the staff have made it quite clear that this list of games isn’t the final list and surprises will come.

Lol!!
who’s “diggin”??
I just don’t get why you (and a few others) seem to really dislike the fact that Vita owners are getting PS PLUS!?!
As for the KZ3 thing. Advertisers have a strict ream of laws they HAVE to abide by. If Sony have lied then surely you should be taking them to court.
Oh wait a minute they NEVER promised remote play as a feature for PS3 games.
If you believe everything you see in adverts then more fool you!!
I and all my fellow Vita friends knew that KZ3 was not supported by remote play. A tiny bit of research would have told you this.
You seem to have Cross-Play and Remote-Play mixed up. They are two completely different things.
I am going to leave it there now as I’m getting dizzy going round in all these circles!!
Who buys a new console as an early adopter and then sells it after 2 months anyway??
Your choice but far from a good move!!!

Great addition to the service even though I have 3 of the 4 titles on offer already, what my main concern is the memory cards, I currently have the 32gig card in my vita which simply isn’t enough space. Now that plus has come to the handheld, Sony seriously need to consider making bigger memory cards available and more importantly more affordable.
269
Posted on 13 November, 2012 at 9:53 pm by frodouk
I think cheaper memory cards, and of course bigger ones are going to happen soon. Don’t fancy constantly downloading and deleting software.

Sorry, but i feel a slight ‘Trollin’ spell coming on, ‘take care of your loyal Customers, sony’. first off, once sony have our custom/loyalty, we stop being customers, instead we are looked on as ‘commodities’, second, it seems the Euro markets buyers are referred to as Consumers, while the USA buyers are titled Customers, i guess it isn’t a total Troll post, i mean it is common knowledge about the Consumers/Customers bit, a mis-sent sony memo, from high up actually said this, a few months back.. the first part, once they have our money, ha. well it Does seem that the less you spend, the More sony wish to reward you, Very strange way of Keeping majority happy, But there ones running the multi-million pound business, not me, so i suppose they know what there doing, you know, manoeuvring some pieces to hopefully claim check mate..much more My outlook than ‘sprints and marathons’.

Going by your odd rant a few comments up I’ll go now and leave you with your bitter outlook on all things Sony.
I think your going to implode in yourself.
Go lie down in a dark room until you feel better.
When you feel better then re-read my last post.
It said “YOU should take them to court”
Plus YOU said that you hated the Vita. I never said you hated Vita owners!!
You have clearly lost it so I’ll leave you to it.

OMG, you spoil guys!!! ^_^
Can I make some suggestions for December Vita PS plus? GOW HD collection, Jack and Daxter HD , Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Rayman Origins.
Also you guys might wanna consider releasing a PSVita with 12GB internal flash memory . The cost of the cards often puts people of purchasing the system as it did me. With the 12GB flash memory peoples perception of the systems value would sky rocket, alongside sales. With the addition of PS plus, people would easily fill up 12GB and before they know it they’ll be looking at purchasing 16/32GB memory cards, so you guys could still make your profit from the cards.

This is great news.
I certainly don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth here.
As an early supporter of the Vita though – I already own both these titles since….well…since they are the only two decent games we had on the platform for quite some time!
This is all great news – but when you are deciding free games – please consider the platform is quite new and most people will already own the big titles. Some of the newer OR Mobile titles would certainly make me happy.

im not going to have a go at you as i said what i had to say before as you singled me out for my issue regarding modnation(which was a complete non issue in the end)
but i dont really understand why you traded the vita after 2 months, the launch lineup window was pretty well documented so there was no surprises regarding game releases at that time and it was a bit early to know that remote play would not be more well supported over the coming months.
however even though you had issues with my posts in this thread before i have to defend you here as i was also under the impression that the vita would become an extension of our ps3′s and we would be able to use the vita(or ngp at the time) for a more robust remote play with most of the library being available for remote use.
i love my vita and i also really like the fact that plus vita is going to give me far more games to play at a low low cost.

Posted on 13 November, 2012 at 11:31 pm by hayzink
i will need to buy a new card as i already have digitally
uncharted
street fighter x tekken
stardust bundle
hustle kings
sunflowers
plants vs zombies
f1 2011
escape plan
zen pinball 2 (all tables)
modnation racers
when vikings attack
now some of these titles will end up free and i don’t care as if i get 50% more games as a result of plus then its all a bonus.
a new 16gb card will cost around the same as one of the full price retail games and if this means i can store 10 or so games form my sub then its all good.

Hii, It’s great to see PS+ for PS Vita! But I have a question so please answer.
Well, I have 2 accounts, one with PS+ subscription and another one which I normally use and have my trophy collection on it. Like in PS3 when I download a game from my PS+ account then that game works on my another account with trophy support but I think it’s not the case with PS Vita. Is there anything you can do about it? Or any suggestions?
I would really want to play those PS+ Vita games on my account with trophies so please help.

I’m happy to see the Plus is on Vita next week and Gravity Rush will be a freebie.
BUT the US is getting 6 games whereas EU gets 4. I’m not too bothered about which 6 but having 6 games rotate frequently rather than 4, or in this case 2 as UC & GR will stick around longer, provides better variety and a more attractive offering.
I’m an early adopter of Vita which means with only 2 games rotating the chances of getting something I haven’t played before becomes far less likely than if there were 4 games rotating.
Please consider expanding to 6 slots to cater to the people who picked up the Vita at launch and have played a lot of the library already

how many moaning people on here getting bit boring if your not happy with it simple solution is to not get it you pay £40 year and first release you get approx. £80 worth games, problem is everybody wants something for nothing the guys that put the games on are doing the best to put decent games on, if you have hard copy trade in put money towards bigger memory card also these guys have to contact the developers of these games to put them on for free, they are restricted to what they can add, people say oh i already have that one, you pay a subscription the games are the games accept it, please find below a list of the digital games i already have and i accept that what on there is on there and any i dont have is a bonus

This is what definitily made me decide to buy a Vita this Holliday,
Just one doubt tough:
I Already have Wipeout 2048 and Superstardust HD for the PS3 do I have to buy the vita versions or can I download it again to the Vita from my PSN account
296
Posted on 14 November, 2012 at 12:56 am by hayzink
@DonMingos
wipeout hd on ps3 is a different game than wipeout 2048 so no its not free if you have ps3 version however you do get those tracks free for the vita version as free dlc that are in addition to the tracks that come with 2048.
superstardust delta is also a different title to stardust hd so again its not free.
games like motorstorm rc, hustle kings and when vikings attack are the EXACT same games on ps3 and vita and you do get both copys of these games
